"Great linux notebook"

I am a linux user and I wanted a laptop built for linux (windows built laptops gave me some compatibility issues in the past).
So after some search I found out about Slimbook and I went for it since most reviews were positive and since its price is rather competitive for a linux computer.
After a couple of months I can say that I am very happy with it. I like the notebook esthetically and, above all, it works really well. This is what I was looking for.
Actually at first I had a small issue with the SIM module but I wrote to the customer service and that small problem was fast solved, also because they replied to my message in a couple of hours.
As a whole, a great product and service! I would go for Slimbook again. Thanks guys

"Muy buena empresa y excelente customer service"

Cuando tienes una inquietud estan siempre tomandose el tiempo de solucionarte tu inquietud. Contacte con el servicio tecnico y al otro dia ya estaban escribiendome sugiriendo soluciones
La laptop funciona muy bien incluso teniendo un chasis de 1.5 KG. Ni mas ni menos que lo necesitaba, pura portabilidad sin perder potencia.

"Awful support, hardware malfunction caused laptop battery to expand 2 times"

My brother bought me slimbook 2 years ago. It worked nicely until last year, when my battery broke ( It got expanded somehow ) . We filed complaint and they have sent me new battery which I had to pay. Not long after, port for battery charger , the one in laptop, broke. I had to change it at my local repare shop.
Now, a year after I have replaced battery and replaced charger port, my battery broke again. Same problem as before. It obviously have some hardware malfunction, but they are not willing to replace laptop with new one. There is no other reason for it to destroy 2 batteries and battery charger port in just little more than 2 years time. I now use it as desktop without battery. We will see how long it willl last this way.
I gave 2 stars, because other components of laptop seem to work fine, otherwise it would be 0 stars.

"The Excalibur is a great Linux laptop"

The Excalibur is a great Linux laptop – not just because of the Slimbook Linux button instead of a Windows button ;-) (although this is one of the details I love)...

I would have gone for five stars if it wasn't for the sometimes incomplete or not quite accurate documentation. But I understand that this can't be a number 1 priority, especially not for a small company.

Also, a few four-star reviews among all the five-star ones make the positive feedback look more realistic and convincing! :-)

"Happy with Slimbook Excalibur"

I bought a Slimbook Excalibur. My experiences have been very positive. The performance is very good and the system (KDE neon) is stable. The screen has nice colors and a comfortable size for those with poor eyesight.
I was particularly surprised that Steam games ( with Proton ) also run smoothly.
Very nice case with the KDE logo. I also like the keyboard layout without the Windows logo on the super key.
I would also like to emphasize the very helpful customer service. Inquiries were always answered and good solutions were suggested.

Muy contento con el Slimbook PROAMD que compré hace ya casi dos años, lo uso 8 horas al día y va de lujo, ademas tenía una pega con la webcam y me ayudaron a solucionarlo muy rápido. Lo tengo claro, me encanta linux y me encanta slimbook

"I'm delighted with my Slimbook One"

I'm delighted with my Slimbook One. It's small yet powerful, and it looks great on my desk. Furthermore, when I had a question, the customer service was super quick and friendly. Definitely a great buy for me!

"Dreadful company, steer well clear!"

The company is untrustworthy and deceitful.

Firstly, their website payment provider only allowed payment in Euros and tried to charge £133 exchange rate transaction fee. Slimbook's response was they are not responsible for the bank's charges. They are responsible for which provider they choose and £133 is not typical of all providers.

I paid with bank transfer to ship to the UK. They shipped me a laptop with Fedora and Windows. The Windows 11 was in Spanish. I had to complete installation in a language that I don't speak and change to English afterwards. Their excuse was a new technician who had just started. Within a couple of days Windows started to crash.

They incorrectly told me that if I return the goods to be fixed I will be charged import taxes again. This is false, the UK HMRC have a arrangement for returning goods for repair to EU countries to avoid double charging. It is unacceptable to avoid the responsibility to fix faulty goods.

Instead of fixing the goods, they sent me a YouTube video and a file to download to fix it myself. The link to the file they created did not exist or lead to a file.

They also threatened to deduct money for any damages to the equipment. Damages that a) do not exist on a computer I have had for a few days and b) for faulty goods that they sent out.

They did not respond to my email telling about their false claims about double charging import VAT. I have now had to resort to threatening debt collectors to get my money back.

Maybe if the computer had worked, I would be happy with what I received. This company clearly do not understand what it means to be in the wrong and do not understand what it is they have to do to fix THEIR error. I am the customer, I paid for the goods. I should not have to be the one to research shipping legislation, fix a faulty installation etc. I am currently £2k down and still using my old laptop.

What a disgrace and miserable excuse for a company. I can see from other bad reviews that they have had, they will attempt to make excuses below the review. I imagine that will be added below and will try to make them look better as if they had tried to help (they did, but extremely poor) and make me, the customer who has done nothing wrong, somehow look bad.
