Bell Tent Sussex

"Beautiful belltent! "
Beautiful belltent. Really prompt delivery. Put it up in the garden and there was a storm with thunder and lightening. No leaks đ
The tripod poles are only a little more work than a central pole.
Everything is good quality. Easy guy ropes and strong pegs.
Bella now dry and packed away ready for a trip to Dorset.

"Great, responsive customer service "
I needed a repair kit quickly and they did everything they could to facilitate this. When Royal Mail failed us, Chris spent two hours on hold to them trying to get through to sort it out. Great customer service.

"Make sure you check your equipment withâŚ"
Make sure you check your equipment with the 14 days policy period. I bought a very expensive air bed that was faulty. I used it a few months after the purchase and it wouldnât stay up. Although I cannot prove that there was a fault Iâd taken the air bed to a festival still in the packaging. I was offered a patch to mend the air bed but it still didnât stay up. Feel very frustrated and disappointed.
The high quality âgesture of good willâ did not solve the problem. The air bed is still faulty and was before I opened the packaging and is not fit for purpose.

"My Indian full moon flooring for my 5mâŚ"
My Indian full moon flooring for my 5m bell tent is stunning, I never expected it to look so gorgeous and the feel under foot is really soft, next day delivery was also a nice surprise. The box was damaged, but as the flooring is wrapped in another protective packaging this didnât matter. They also show a video on their insta of these being made in India, which is really interesting and lovely to see. Its made from reusable material from sarees. Very impressed and extremely well made, well done Bell Tent Sussex!

"Poor Customer Service"
Ordered a tent and inner tent from Belltent Sussex mainly because of positive reviews not from any personal experience. Tent was ordered with a waiting time of a week or so with an expected delivery of 4th of July.
No email notifications before or after the 4th of July that the company was experiencing further delays, inner tent arrived before the end of June , then the expected date of the 4th July came and went with no information and tent eventually arrived a week later (approx 8 days) .This occurred with no notification of the delay. Luckily a trip had not been planned to start during this delay.
Whilst having had several tents previously this was our first bell tent, it seemed to be of reasonable quality although every zip was very stiff and required multiple sprays with silicon lubricant to achieve a smoothish action.
The tent bag is unfortunately so small that after 6 attempts to roll up into a size that fits bag into the bag after use itâs ended up half in the bag, unzipped with 2 luggage straps wrapped round it. Again Iâm sure itâs possible to get back in (after all it arrived in the bag, and Iâm assuming hasnât grown although I suppose itâs possible that the fabric having been wet and dried out (weathering as per belltent information card) may have swelled) but itâs frustrating when other companies advertise that their bags are purposely made a little larger for when you donât quite roll it up right. in fairness to bell tent Sussex, they donât advertise this and therefore I cant really complain that it may take more that 6 attempts to get the tent in exactly the same shape as when first rolled up and put in the bag in new and unweathered condition.
A practice camp in the back garden went well however and I decided that we would purchase a black pole lamp and some retractable âfairyâ lamps for our first âproperâ camp.
The parcels arrived in good condition and were opened by my wife who promptly called me and said
âif youâve paid more that ÂŁ1.99 for this black pole lamp itâs going back, it looks and feels like it could fall to bits the first time we use itâ
âIt was ÂŁ19.99â I repliedâŚ
I contacted bell tent who agreed that I could return the lamp. It was packed back up carefully and sent recorded and insured.
I received notification that the lamp had arrived and a refund sent (which I have received).
On our first trip out, weekend of 10/8/24 I proudly put up the fairy lamps to try out. They comprise a string of fairy lamps with a standard led lamp built into the housing.
Darkness fell and the lamp was switched on.
âIs that itâ I heard from somewhere in the darkness.
âThereâs a couple of settings Iâll make sure they are on the bright oneâ, they were already on the bright one.
(They had been fully charged before departure, then put back into their box for transit).
âHow much?â
âÂŁ26.99â
âPack them up, they are uselessâ.
On Monday I contacted BellTent to send the lamps back as well. (within 2weeks, so therefore under distance selling regulations).
And received this reply.
Hi Mark
Hope you are well.
Please can you let us know reasons as to why you need to return the light, the pole light was returned damaged and marked and on this occasion we sent a refund but if the reel light and box is in the same condition we will not be able to issue you with a refund.
Kind Regards

Bell Tent Sussex
I am very unhappy with this as the pole light was removed from and replaced into the packaging and sent back recorded and insured. For both mine and Belltentâs protection.
If the lamp was damaged (I am unsure of how it could have been âmarkedâ and Belltent had contacted me I could have taken this up with Royal Mail, and claimed from them. If the parcel was damaged, I am again unsure as to why it was signed for by Belltent.
This âdamage and markingâ has only come to âlightâ aptly enough only when I wished to send back the fairy lamps due to their low light output.
I feel the companies customer service is poor to say the least especially after spending ÂŁ850 on the Tent and bedroom, that they seek to infer that I may not be âplaying fairâ when I have requested to return a substandard third party product supplied by them.
I had hoped for a little more from âa family companyâ and wish that at least from the tents bag point of view Iâd gone with the company who advertised the bigger bag.
As for the lampsâŚâŚ.
I wonât be returning them as I wish(and hope) to have no further dealings with this company
