"Completely Useless Complains Procedure"
I sent an email to Spar Support in early August to complain about the treatment I received at the Spar Shop in the garage at Troutbeck Bridge in Windermere when I returned some mouldy jam.
They replied on the 8th August to say that they had passed my complaint onto the regional Distribution centre James Hall.
On the 9th September, I had not received a reply so I wrote again to Spar Headquarters. They replied saying that they would chase James Hall.
On the 3rd January, I had still not received a reply so I wrote again to Spar Headquarters. They replied saying that they would chase James Hall.
Here we are now on the 13th February and I still havnt receive a reply from either of them.
Just Pathetic!

"Not worth patronizing unless you're in serious urgency."
Everything is so expensive. The quality and quantity of food per package are suboptimal. The choice of food especially vegetables, fruits, and meat is too little. It's just not a great place for grocery shopping.

"Poor Service"
I write specifically with regard to the Spar shop in Nethy Bridge near Aviemore, Scotland. We visit this area quite often and as expected, the local shop from time to time. Our visits to this shop have never been excellent let’s say. I don’t know if it a simple case of ‘their not local’ so let’s not be approachable or pleasant. I really do not think that people like this ought to be in a business that requires positive interaction with other humans. Shopping, no matter where, ought to be a pleasant experience. I have nothing particularly against Spar shops in general. They may be a little pricey, but you pay for convenience. So for Nethy Bridge Spar, significant improvement required. I will not be holding my breath!

"Spar Tates totally useless!!"
As a former Blakeney Resident I have to say Spar are hopeless and too dam expensive! When I grew up in the village in the high street we had S Loose and son Butchers, Roger Breeze Fishmongers, Joe Browns greengrocer and down the street was Haywards Supermarket with the Post Office as Bill Hayward gave you great deals then the Anchor Shop and Barclay's Bank it is where you had everything you needed in the village! That's tragicly history as Tate's are hopeless as I left the village in 2006 and I'm never coming back!!

"All spar stores are well overpriced"
All spar stores are well overpriced. Cheap poor quality brands that cost more than top brands in most shops. I can bet BP are losing money, I personally wouldn't want my business associated with spar after seeing the reviews.
Now on to the website, the whole thing pointless. Firstly as shows what most stores stock but try finding it in store. Secondly there is no prices for what you may find in store if your lucky. I can only guess this is due to the overpriced items.
I do like to waste my time travelling and fuel to see if they have what I'm looking for. Nothing beats the journey home after you leave the store empty handed or sore from just having it stuck right up you.
The website is outdated and whoever's started it lost the will to live going for a very long lay down. Up until now the website remains unfinished with no prices.
Probably best to leave here.

"Bought bottled still water from a shop…"
Bought bottled still water from a shop in Manchester. There own brand yuk tastes awful and the bottle looked kind of old plastic. A brown tinge around the top and on the bottom. Should have stuck to a brand like volvic.
