We booked a two day tour to New York from Boston.This tour was a nightmare to navigate. First there was little communication about the tour other than what was on the website. They would not tell you what hotel you were going to stay at until the evening of the first night. The hotel we stayed at was 1 1/2 hours away from New York in New Jersey. It did not include the breakfast, you had to pay an additional $7.00 for a cold breakfast.
The bus we took from Boston was a public bus that dropped us off at the East-West bus station in China Town. On the return bus trip from New York to Boston they did not drop us off at the same place they picked us up at. We had to walk 3 blocks in the middle of China town at midnight and they could not give us directions to the original bus stop.
This tour company caters to the Asian market and they were not concerned about us caucasians.
The only thing I can say positive about my experience booking through Taketours.com is I learned not to use this company again.

"WORST THING EVER"
My agent was Taketours. So for our tour we took the two day trip to dc. So on our way that were asking for 55 dollars for a person for the attractions, and the worst part was that we did not even have the money with us and we never notified, and it also does not say on our contract.

"This is a SCAM! BEWARE"
This is a SCAM! ALL the bad reviews are true, and even more. I do not believe the good reviews. We felt like we were kidnapped, and the tour guide will strand us in the middle of nowhere if we did not keep handing out cash to him. He even kept selling us breakfast and dinner service! Seriously!
Our experience was so horrible that I just signed up to give my opinion and review of this SCAM tour.
Please take other tour company. There are good ones out there. This one is a scam.

Horrible company, terrible experience.
Trust me, you don't want to use taketours services. I saw the bad reviews before but didn't take them seriously.
I booked the Woodbury Commons tour for me and my girlfriend. The bus was suppose to pick us up at 08:00. We waited from 07:30 to 08:45. However, it did not show up. What's more, the customer service hasn't replied to my refund request.
THEY ARE SCAMMERS.

The worst ever experience with a tour company! they're cheating people! I booked the trip online and my credit card was charged in USD instantaneously while my credit card company (like many other credit card companies) ripped me off straight away in currency conversation for overseas purchases! In a few hours I get an email from this company saying that the tour I purchased is no longer available and instead offered me another tour on a different date but double the price! so basically this is how these guys rip you off, they show you something online and tell you something else to buy at a higher price!! on my argument, they offered me to refund my money which too was a double whammy for me since on the refund my credit card company ripped me off one more time in currency conversion. So in a nutshell, I simply got charged for nothing but only currency conversion twice for a service that I never availed!! They should offer online only what they have to sell and charge the customer only if it is accepted not something else at an outrageous price, refunding money is not a solution for a customer like me who just paid twice at purchase and at refund for no service received!!

"1 Day Grand Canyon Tour"
I went on the one day tour to the Grand Canyon and Hoover dam. The tour guide was absolutely useless. He made us wait for 10 mins over the schedulesd time and when asked if we could get a coffee he said no as there was no more time. Yet we stood there waiting for other people. Could not even get a take away as there is no coffee allowed on the bus. He then increased the tip charged from $8 to $9 when i asked how he could do that he replied with we just did. I would recommend going with a different tour if possible.

"I just wanted to change the dates not get a refund !"
I booked a tour 3-Day Niagara Falls, Washington DC, Philadelphia, Corning Tour from New York for the weekend leaving Saturday, March 3rd early in morning.
Due to an unforeseen "Northeaster" storm our flight was cancelled and we couldn't make the tour.
I called and even spoke to a live chat representative, which by the way I do not recommend. The only thing I was asking is to change the dates as there is a storm and all flights leaving my connection were cancelled until Sunday morning.
There only response I got was "we cannot do anything at this point you are contacting us too late to make any changes, we cannot do anything about this"
THERE A STORM people I would have imagine that there could be some other options and not wasting my money entirely on this trip. Well honestly you are going to loose a lot more customers if you do not TRY to be reasonable with the customer during these type of situations!

"Terrible experience and not suggest to buy it"
On Feb 17-19, 2018 my friend and I (total is 4 people) had bought 3-Day San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Yosemite Tour from Los Angeles (Tour Code: 589-2344 )pick up at Union Station and change a bus at Ramada Plaza LAX.
We had an extremely bad experience when travel with you for all trip and here are following points;
1. Without Notice : On Feb 17, tour guide(Her name is Jacky) told us that there was probably that our group cannot went to Yosemite National Park because of cold weather and snowing without prior notice. This make us shocked because you should be inform us prior 1 or 2 days by email, not on site informing.
2. Extra Payment : Along the way, tour guide had asked for extra payment of 1 day tour in Sanfrancisco which your website mentioned this is an optional, not mandatory. The extra payment that seem to be unfair for us and other travelers ...were $38 for Sanfrancisco Bay Cruise, $35 for Extension City Tour, and $30 for Sanfrancisco Free Day Tour.
So, total tour payment is $104+$64+$35-------My question is why you still charged us for this? this is doesn't make sense and looks tricky because no mentioned in website and why you still charged for City Tour? This is not your staff responsible. We traveled by own.
Also, other travelers didn't know before and they didn't prepare cash for this extra payment. (Do you know what did you do? ...... your tour guide said that "Company needs to make a money" Then, you took us to ATM at Golf Club!!)
3. Bus Driver : A man who drove a bus no. 17177 during Feb 17-19, 2018 was very poor manner and terrible gesture. He drove very fast and poor driving. We all pray for god because we were afraid of unexpectedly accident. Moreover, he had terrible behave when our group came to the bus 5 mins late and the bus driver had throw our luggage on the cabin and curse in Chinese language. Is this a good service that we deserve?
So, all terrible experience 2 days, we decided to separate our group and extra own payment for booking a Megabus for coming back from Sanfrancisco to LA on that night and we had paid for an extra pay 1 night on that day. This is very crazy.
By the way, we cannot spend our life to sit on the bus which had a terrible driver.
This is such a horrible tour that we haven't met before and it will be our last purchasing for your service and we will share this experience to our friend and family.

"Spectacular view!!!"
Tour guide Simon sent me email telling me departure time change and where to meet at hotel a day before. We had a time to buy breakfast at gas station. I took lots of pictures inside Antelope Canyon. The guide told us where to take pictures with iPhone and iPod. Then we had lunch time for 30 min at Subway or Chinese restaurant. Horseshone Bend was a scary place but spectacular!!! Everyone should see Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend after visiting Grand Canyon.

Taketours arranged an excellent tour which fitted our requirements well. Our first courier, Ming, was excellent and always available to offer assistance and information. Our second courier was young and, perhaps, needed a little more experience.
