"After 8 years of Fluent "service""

I have now been a Fluent client for about 8 years. The first 5 years was excellent. Sadly, I was stupid enough to sign a new term. At this point, my service went into the toilet. A Fluent tech said I needed a new control panel. My panel is now messing up so bad that today their tech had difficulty helping me clear an error on the panel. They offered to replace my panel for $1300... or I can sign for an extra 3 years. (Keep in mind that I am currently paying about DOUBLE what their competitors would charge for the same service and equipment.) According to the Fluent "service" rep I spoke to today, they're satisfied to see me get by with a panel that is semi-functional and will be 10 years old by the time my contract ends.

Think about how technology has changed in 10 years!

By the time my contract is over I will have paid Fluent about $8500... and almost all the equipment will be the same equipment they installed 10 years earlier.

"i have had nothing but a appsolute…"

i have had nothing but a appsolute night mare with this compony i am disabled d got there panic alarm chain incase i fell we have the who system but the only reason at all my hubby got it for us manly the reason was for the panic allarm incase he wasnt home but the whole system has nvr worked at my house they sent out a teck once but still didnt work had to disconnect it infact as it wasnt qorking at all kept going off alll hrs of the night and day wakeing my toddler up and the panic button nvr works my hubby has been trying to cancl it 4 three yrsrd told me 3 months ago was reasured by the rep that she put in a request to cancle and if canclelation department would contact us if they need anything otherwise it was cancled 3 mounths later i get a bill so hubby called they said renewed my contract it has nvr worked at all and the cusomer survice agent yelled ay us litterally i wouyld appsolutely nvr recomend this company im dissabled and now have 225 that i owe because they w8ted so long to let us know i would never recomend this compony it should b illigal to say one thing and do another

"One star is too high of a rating"

One star is too high for this service. I've been a customer for over 5 years paying a high rate for home security service. Upon the news that the equipment I had would no longer work as of the ending of 3G, they sent out a home tech guy to try to get me to switch out. For one, he showed up in a Porsche, which good for him, but does make me question how much I'm paying for my service. He said the only way I would get new equipment from them was if signed a new contract. I needed time to decide, but over the next several days he continued to harrass me via phone in the morning and evenings, at one point commenting on my voice saying that I "sounded sick". That was enough, found a better service and wanted to cancel. I called to do so, that was when I was informed that the contract I signed 5 years ago had a clause that renewed it for 1 year at a time. The only way to get out of that was to cancel within a 20 some day window the month before my renewal which is in September. The guy on the phone was snarky, rude, and just started reading off the contract to me. So basically I'm hostage to this for 6 months, for a service and equipment that does not work. On top of that, he said I couldn't 'verbally cancel' the agreement for September, unless I called back within that window of time before the renewal. This is the worst customer service I've experienced in a long time. Avoid them at all costs.

"They seem nice at 1st but they are HORRIBLE!!!!"

I have had the WORST experience ever with Fluent Homes. I was a loyal customer for over 8 years. I paid a hefty monthly monitoring fee over $50 per month, but I keep up to my agreement and terms of agreement. Once I finally decided that I wanted to move, Fluent Homes gave me the run around. I called at least 5 times trying to cancel my servicing agreement. They said that I would have to wait for their special department to call back. That was 4 months ago. They would not call back. Meanwhile, they kept charging me for monitoring. I kept phoning, sent a letter to dis-continue service, but they are now trying to collect more servicing fees via collections. I just can't get rid of them. This is grossly unfair. Spoke several times with a Trent. He has hung up on me twice now. A complete jerk. STAY AWAY FROM FLUENT HOME security systems. They will rip you off like they have ripped me off. WORST COMPANY EVER!!!!!

"Horrible resolutions Team"

They are a tricky company don’t sign with them they have a auto renewal of your contract that takes place as soon as your contract is over. Go with another company don’t waste your time. They make it so hard to cancel I had to hire a lawyer.

"I don’t like fluent I have had with…"

I don’t like fluent I have had with their stuff sence I have had it now the whole thing is not working and their trying to tell me the sensors are no good and. That they belong to the other company well that’s not my fault they should have put theirs in when they put the system in no they left them so they could charge me for new ones and I don’t think that’s write what they take out a month from my checking they should put new ones in for free and they don’t even send me a email for when they are taking their payment I will not give them a good name to anyone else unless they do me right it’s just not right to me they are a crooked company

"Run away: Fluent is the Worst"

Everything you are reading here about what a nightmare Fluent is to cancel is true. I am 6 weeks into trying to cancel my service, after my contract expired, and am getting the run around. I have had to deal with "Retention Team", "Customer Advocate", multiple calls to customer service, unreal. This has just been surreal. Seriously, run don't walk away from these scam artists. I cannot believe their antics are legal, but definitely not ethical. Anyway, there are plenty of other options out there that aren't scams. It's ironic that they are home security...Who will protect consumers from Fluent?

"Stay far, far away from Fluent"

Do not, under any circumstance, sign on with Fluent Security. Their 3G towers are going away so they say I have to upgrade my system. Apparently, even though I only signed a 5 year contract over 6 years ago, somewhere in that tiny print is an auto renewal clause. They won't let me cancel without buying out the contract. Plus, if I want the system that will actually work with THEIR new towers, I have to pay $700. So basically I'm trapped into paying for a system that won't even work in a month or so. How ridiculous does this sound to anybody else? Shame on companies that do business this way!

Do not choose Fluent. They have great salespeople, but their equipment is substandard and their policies are not customer-friendly. Unless you want to fall victim to unreasonable contract practices, inept customer service, and ultimately take months to cancel service when you finally get fed up with them, Fluent is not the company for you.

If you DO decide to take a risk with Fluent, read your contract VERY CAREFULLY. Don't make the mistake I did and think that after the 3-year term, you would be on month-to-month like other security companies do. You'll end up stuck in another 3-year contract unless you cancel in that narrow window at the end of your term. Then, you'll have to pay out the nose for an "early termination fee". I ask you, how is it that after your initial contract term, you could even have an "early termination fee"?

Moreover, wait times on the phone are attrocious. Call at 5 in the morning or expect ot be on hold for way too long. You have to wait a minimum of 20 minutes on hold before they even give you a call back option. Their customer service is not well versed in their policies as I've gotten misleading information many many times. I was informed that in order to cancel, "retention services" had to call me. While they claim I was called multiple times, my phone records contest that assertion. They could never just transfer me to the appropriate department. I was put off again and again, always told "retention services will contact you within 3-5 business days." The call never came.

Finally, only after refusing to pay, was I finally able to get someone who could transfer me to them. Funny how that works.

Their equipment is substandard. If I trusted that they could even upgrade the equipment without charging me through the nose for it, I might have considered it. If I had a doorbell that didn't stop recording in the middle of the month on a routine basis, I might have considered it. If I hadn't been told the only solution to that problem was to pay more a month to expand my storage, perhaps, I wouldn't have gone to all the trouble to cancel them.

Do yourself a favor. Go with literally anyone else. Get a Ring. Get SimpliSafe. Anything but this company. Your stress levels and your pocketbook will thank you for it.
