Spam email: I have received a number of these and extract of text is below. The most recent was from xxxx ( an email address was supplied) but the company listed at the bottom of email was Hampton Lovett. I assume that xxxx is thus an agent of theirs.
"Business rates relief available for Crowborough could mean thousands back into The Perfect Painting Co Tunbridge Wells Ltd’s cashflow.
Hi,
I am a specialist Rating Surveyor based in the Crowborough area and have recently secured a substantial reduction in Rateable Value for a client that has a comparable property to yours in the local area.
I have evidence to support that your Rateable Value is well in excess of where it should be compared to neighbouring premises. If you have also been affected by any of the below it is highly likely that we can reclaim a 4 year rebate totalling thousands and secure a fixed Business Rates bill until 2023, helping to take the burden off The Perfect Painting Co Tunbridge Wells Ltd.

Hampton Lovetts reply said they would remove me from their database .... BUT
I have since received 2 further SPAM emails from them - Example of 1 is below
"Hi, I am a specialist Rating Surveyor based in the Crowborough area and have recently secured a substantial reduction in the Rateable Value for a client that has a comparable property to yours. This has resulted in our client saving in excess of £10,000 per year In Business Rates and receiving 4 years backdated payments totalling more than £40,000 back into their cashflow.
Having had the opportunity to review The Perfect Painting Co Tunbridge Wells Ltd’s entry in the Rating List, I have identified several issues that, when taking comparable premises into account, demonstrate that there are proportionate savings available for The Perfect Painting Co Tunbridge Wells Ltd and that you are paying substantially more than your neighbouring properties. I can provide evidence of this upon carrying out a FREE PROPERTY ASSESSMENT.
On 1st April 2021, your rates liability will increase as a result of change to the Non-Domestic Rates Multiplier. Taking action now can prevent this unnecessary increase in The Perfect Painting Co Tunbridge Wells Ltd’s expenditure and result in a rebate of thousands in overpaid Business Rates dating back to 1st April 2017.
Please do not hesitate to contact me on the number below for an informal chat and to arrange for a Free Assessment with myself or one of my colleagues. It will only take around 30 minutes of your time and could save The Perfect Painting Co Tunbridge Wells Ltd a substantial amount of money – especially if your business has been adversely affected by Covid-19 or received no relief this year.
Also, if your business has been affected by any of the following, contact us now!
• Areas operating plant or machinery
• Change in Rent or Usage of the property
• Disruption caused by temporary roadworks or redevelopment

• Access issues
• If you do not fully occupy the property
• Empty or To Let properties nearby
• Age or condition of the property

"Don't waste your money"
Had a meeting with a representative of this company and was assured I would receive a rates rebate so handed over £1,200. That was nov/dec 2018 ????
As mentioned by a few others they blamed covid for the delay and have recently got back to me saying it looks unlikely I will receive anything. Do yourself a favour, DO NOT USE THESE CHARLATANS.
Having read your reply you say that you've spoken to my caseworker and the VOA are currently working on my case. I'm confused because I received an email from said caseworker telling me that the VOA have turned down my application ? Please clarify !

"So despite not opting in to Hampton…"
So despite not opting in to Hampton Lovett spam emails and the fact that their spam email contains false statements alluding to them having assessed my business rates (despite my being exempt) today I have had another spam email.
Todays email says "Further to our last correspondence, we have identified further discrepancies within the Summary Valuation for your premises."
The discrepancy is that you are claiming to have reviewed my business rates. How can you, when I am exempt so there simply is no rates to review?
And to my last review, the boss Chris Goodhand said I should contact him to get myself removed from their spam email list?
Its underhand tactics like this from UK based companies that need holding to account.
Why should companies like Hampton Lovett be allowed to keep sending spam, after spam and their response isnt "ok we will stop" its "we will remove you from our list and keep sending spam"
Chris Goodhand at Hampton Lovett, you knew the deal from my last review, one new review for each new experience (i.e new spam email)
Stopping spamming and I'll stop reviewing. Its a simple offer. Your choice.
*all spam emails retained as evidence should they be required by Trustpilot.
Edit following HL response:
Chris, its your tactics of lying in your spams emails and the spam emails themselves and then only offering to remove individuals from your spam list(but continue to send spam) thats underhanded,
Why should I do that, just so that you can continue sending spam?
Stop the spam for everyone and I'll stop the reviews

"Avoid at all costs"
Avoid at all costs, HL promise the world but only deliver, at best, a very average service. I would strongly recommend reviewing and challenging your Rateable Value yourself. Multiple internal contacts, but absolutely no continuity which delays the whole process - the final document submitted by HL was handwritten and only contained information that I had already provided - no added . They do not respond to complaints, even when pushed the MD refuses to speak directly with customers - the only part of the process they seem genuinely interested in is fee payment and work closely with a Debt recovery team rather than addressing any complaints directly

"DO NOT TRUST THEM."
DO NOT TRUST THEM.
I received an e-mail, via a third party, stating that I was a client of theirs ( by reference to my home address) and they had saved me thousands. I had never heard of them.
I have reported them to trading standards. I cannot see that they are regulated.

"Relentless spam emails!"
I have never dealt with this company or even heard of them until I started receiving unsolicited emails from them. I have now unsubscribed from their list four times yet the emails keep coming! Interestingly, when you go onto their website, which I did in order to try to contact them direct to ask them to take me off their list, the only way of contacting them is via a form (which I did not complete), in which you are asking them for a free assessment of your company. Even if I had need of such service, I would not use these people as they added me to a mailing list without my consent (or even my knowledge) and are not readily contactable via their own website. Incidentally, it's amusing that they feel so strongly that they can reduce my business rates as any check of the premises we occupy for business will show that they qualify for small business rate relief. I'm not sure how Hampton Lovett could reduce a payment of £0.00 per annum!

"The help we needed throughout this Pandemic"
Hampton Lovett Surveyors have been a great help to our business, especially throughout the Pandemic. After months of letters to and forth to our local council, we were refused any grants or reliefs in respect of our business rates. The holiday payments were slowly catching up and we were in financial trouble.
We used Hampton Lovett Surveyors to appeal our valuation on our property and they have worked hard with us and helped to reduce our business rates on one of our floors by 100%!
The communication has been clear and concise throughout and, Sarah and Louisa have been very helpful in answering all questions, being flexible and understanding our business needs.
Would definitely recommend their service. A++

"All I have from Hampton Lovett is a barage of unsolicited, unwanted, irrelevant emails."
For months I have been receiving unsolicited emails from a range of Hampton Lovett domains for a company on an unrelated domain.
I am sick of the emails, and this shows, in my opinion, poor practice to persist in hounding me with these emails.
As a result, I wouldn't use Hampton Lovett - even if I needed their type of skills.
I now see Hampton Lovett are objecting to an honest - but critical review!
So, maybe they would like to check their records of contacting people without their consent - including on 27/10, 29/10, 2/11, 5/11 (twice so far). So, yes this can be shown to be genuine. Maybe check your records before accusing me of not writing a genuine review.
As if further evidence were needed, today, yet more SPAM from "Philip Blake". Rather than waste my time responding to your objections to a genuine, and verifiable review, why not stop sending unsolicited emails?
One email mentioned my home address, home council, and I quote "I am a specialist Rating Surveyor based in the [xxxxx] area and have recently secured a substantial reduction in the Rateable Value for a client that has a comparable property to yours located at [xxxx]. This has resulted in our client saving in excess of £10,000 per year In Business Rates and receiving 4 years backdated payments totalling more than £40,000 back into their cashflow." (I obscured confidential details).
I resent the spam, I resent them having intrusive personal details about me - which feels stalker-ish to me, and the fact they use multiple email addresses, not all of which are from a common domain are all very dubious.
And to reinforce the failure of HL to deal with SPAM - which they have been told to stop - yet another SPAM message from an address ending in "easybusinessrates.co.uk".
HL STOP SENDING SPAM.
As you seem intent on your harassment by sending another email today despite my insistence this stops, my next step will be to take legal action and recover the costs for this overt harassment - which a professional business would NOT be persisting with.
STOP THE SPAM OR have the costs of the harassment charges.
BTW, this IS harassment. So stop it.
Also, kindly under GDPR provide me with the source of the data you use to harass me.
You say I haven't provided you with information to allow you to stop the harassment - but I have - I can demonstrate I have provided lots of information - therefore, you COULD act, but are choosing NOT to - so this is harassment.
Cease, or I will be seeking compensation.
OK, so as you seem to wish to break the law by refusing to provide information in a GDPR request, but have sent me more SPAM today, this is now harassment, and I will be seeking compensation as you have refused to desist.
For maybe a month after insisting the SPAM ceases, I am still receiving this annoying drivel.
They have refused to provide me with the data required under law.
Compensation is now overdue.
AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE - OR COVID!
More SPAM today - and the instruction to provide me with the details of your source of the data for your SPAM has been ignored despite being required by law under GDPR.
You know my email address, as you have sent me the SPAM. Kindly provide me with the details of the source of your SPAM data, and we can discuss compensation for your harassment.
Still the SPAM continues, yet HL still refuse to desist and have ignored the LEGAL REQUIREMENT to provide the source of my details.
Obviously, the level of compensation now has increased.
c. 1 week on, and HL are still sending SPAM - with different emails and still have ignored the legal requirement to provide the source of the data so this may be stopped at source.
Perhaps litigation would be preferred by HL? OR STOP SENDING THE SPAM
HL are still sending SPAM after months of instructions to desist and have still failed to provide the source of their details.
Now using different email addresses - presumably to make it harder to block. Incredibly unprofessional.

"This is a very professional…"

I would like to thank all of the team that worked with us to get things done. Thank you James Rutherford M D,

"Do not under any circumstances use this…"
Do not under any circumstances use this company, I actually cancelled my contract before I made the payment to them and now all I get are threatening emails that they will ruin my credit score and are willing to charge you £2500 for a cancelled contract. I dont like threats and I dont like bullies so why would I ever change my mind and go with a company thats only purpose is to make money for themselves.
