"This was a once in a lifetime trip!!"

This was a once in a lifetime trip and boy did we get the most out of it!! Hassan is, by far, the best guide I’ve ever had!! If you get the chance to tour with him, TAKE IT!!!

"Customer support was absent"

Customer support was absent . My booking experience was horrendous . I paid extra to fly from a different city and they wouldn’t let me connect with my group . They wouldn’t work with me at all on adjust the flight . Unfortunately as murpheys law would have it my flight was canceled part way through due to airport issues and it took explorica 12 hrs to respond to my “emergency” . I arrived 26 hrs later, missed the entire first day of the tour. I asked for any type of reimbursement and was told to follow up with customer support . So I’ve emailed them multiple times with no response.

The tour area was good. However I was very disappointed that our stops were mostly gas stations. We spent hours in line for places 1
With 1 restroom. I felt like this could have been mitigated by balancing between places to use the restroom . There was no real etiquette instructions on public bathroom in bars, restaurants etc. so it’s not wonder the local Italians are frustrated from these tour groups.

There wasn’t a lot of structure when we stopped places. Example; the only tour we had tickets for were in rome. Too bad, we didn’t get to do Pisa or anything in Florence, bologna. Etc . For the daily rate I was really disappointed the days were not more organized . It seems like a lot of days were planned that morning .

About half of the hotels were horrendous. Far away from sites, dirty and not in safe areas for a group of teenagers who’ve never traveled . Packing 4 ppl in a room with a tiny bathroom, not ok for what the trip cost.

The food . Was. Terrible. Cheap, poor quality. Cheap pasta and canned sauce every single night . Breakfast I understand was traditional just a coffee and croissant. But again, for the gist , not worth it. I would have rather been charged less in total cost and gotten my own food. They herded us in cafeterias and poor quality food places as a convenience fir the guide.

The guide was lovely. She was I informative , I applaud her for her patience with 40 students. The teachers on the trip had little to no interaction with the kids, which isn’t explorica problem but that was unfortunate. My only comment about the guide was she made a lot of “American” stereotype comments which weren’t necessarily true. I thought that was somewhat unprofessional.

All in all , I had 4 family members go . $20000 worth . I won’t ever do a group tour again. I can’t say I’d recommend explorica either. Just seemed disorganized and like they cut corners. The kids knew no different , because they haven’t traveled much .

We enjoyed the tour a lot. We got to see a lot in a small amount of time and had some time to explore on our own too. We would have liked more time at Blarney Castle and I think that it was doable since we were just going on to the hotel after.

Reason why I will rate a three s because all the complimentary lunches and dinners you provided us with was horrendous!!! Cheapest restaurants with the lousiest food! There were time where the entire group wouldn’t even the the food. I feel you charge plenty to where you can provide decent restaurants!!!!

It was an awesome trip and proposed to my gf on the trip. We had a blast and I total recommend the Italy and Greece trip. The collosom was awesome and Greece was beautiful. Capri wax gorgeous.

Everything was planned and set up so smoothly. We went to things as a group we were able to explore on our own. We all ate together as a group so we could compare what they seen and what we saw. It was so enjoyable we are booking another trip with Explorica to Costa Rica! Amazing trip of a lifetime.

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. She kept us in check and handled all the arrangements so we could just enjoy ourselves. The activities, lodging, and locations were fabulous. Explorica handled the weather delays and issues so we didn't have to worry and got us safely through covid testing so we could return home.
