"Defect Knife - But Not Covered!!!"

We ordered a knife set and about 40 days after delivery the tip of the small knife bent. We did not do anything to cause this and we believe it was defective. Company claims that after 30 days this type of defect is not covered. We have less expensive knives that have never done this. Rip off and stay away from them. They don't stand by their product.

"I receive the Hakai Chef Cleaver Knife…"

I receive the Hakai Chef Cleaver Knife on Friday 4/20/2024. Trying to use the knife for simply cutting peppers, onions, carrots, etc. I found this knife to be very heavy and awkward to use for simple slicing and dicing. Due to its weight, it felt very dangerous while performing simple food prep procedures. I am going to return this product for a full refund.

The knives are very poor quality. The handles of the knives separated from the blades within the first 3 months of using the knives. Seller would not work to provide replacement knives because I am out of the 30 day return policy even though it is a defective set. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THESE KNIVES OR ANY PRODUCT FROM THIS COMPANY.

I’m very happy with the whetstones from Seido, they really help with keeping my chef knife and pocket knives sharp. I will definitely reach out to Seido for knives or related stuff in the future, and have recommended Seido to friends I know.

"Horrible Product, Overpriced Cheap Chinese Crap"

I bought the Hanikamu VG10 Damascus Chef Knife Set as a gift for my husband. After receiving a shipping notification and arrival date, the package was delayed for over a week and appeared to be lost. Support was responsive and promised to resend the knives but the original order arrived a few days later.

Once received, the set was attractive and well packaged. That's as far as anything positive goes. With MINIMAL use and hand washing, 5 of the knives have lost pieces of mosaic from the handles. As another review mentioned, THE FORGING PATTERN IS FAKE, and even the Seido logo is wearing off because the blades are so cheaply made.

To be fair, I have been sent replacements for the damaged handles, but the quality is so awful buying from Seido is a complete ripoff. Don't do it!

UPDATE: The replacements they sent are also absolute crap. Again, with minimal use and gentle care the mosaic pieces are still falling out. They also have an F rating with the BBB for failing to honor their guarantee. DO NOT BUY!

I have wanted a good set of knives and I came across these knives. My husband owns a Japanese knife for over 40 years and only sharpened it once. So I decided to give it a try. The best investment I made. I love these knives. I now have a knife set for life. I would recommend these knives to anyone who wants a good set. Also, they are beautiful to look at and also to handle.

To make matters worse, it became apparent that Seido Knives selectively deletes negative reviews from their website, only showcasing positive feedback. This practice is deceptive and prevents potential customers from making informed decisions.

Overall, my experience with Seido Knives has been extremely frustrating, and I would caution others against doing business with them. Their false promises and deceptive practices have left me deeply dissatisfied and out of pocket.

Update: In response to their response, they absolutely, positively removed negative reviews. After being solicited for a review, it was immediately brought down within minutes. I wasn't disrespectful or insulting; I just spoke facts, and it was removed promptly. I find it highly unlikely that the contrast in reviews here compared to your website would be so wildly different. I could provide more details, but the clear and evident deceptive practices speak volumes for themselves. Buyers beware, and you might want to consider looking elsewhere.
