Moving Partnership

"Customer service went out the window as soon as I paid."
I was not present during packing as attending to 3 month old baby. Had to pay well over original quote for extra square metres which was not needed and "cheating" (see below). Belongings took just over 6 months to arrive including 3 months standing around in UK without any communication from them and then a month in destination port due to them choosing the cheapest and most inadequate agency at destination. I realized this within a week of shipping and received no response from the Moving Partnership to help/change agency, all further communication and requests for help from me has also gone unanswered. When I finally received my belongings I saw the terrible job they did of packing. Multiple boxes were less than 1/4 filled. If boxes had been packed properly the original quote would have been enough instead of paying extra. Nothing was individually wrapped including ceramic pots, glass pots and other kitchenware, multiple expensive items also badly scratched. Everything was just thrown in. Mattresses and couches also damaged. I would not pack that badly to move a mile down the road let alone half way across the world. Truly horrified!

"The Moving Partnership made the move easy!"
The Moving Partnership made the shipping of our furniture from UK to Australia simple and seamless. Up front on costings and stages of the shipment. Easy to track the shipment and it arrived on time. Very well packed and no breakages at all.
Very happy with the overall professional and helpful service and would have no hesitation in recommending the Moving Partnership to anyone

"Slick Sales, Poor Service."
TLDR: Slick sales which masks a poor service. We ended up paying extra because of their mistakes. Would not recommend. The shipping company who picked up our goods said we would have been better off using a shipping company rather than an agent like The Moving Partnership. We will do that next time.
Full version: We moved from Malta to the UK in April ‘23. The sales process was slick, but the implementation was a shambles. Our contact (salesman) who since left the company said all the right things to get our business, but once they had taken our deposit, which we paid early in February to "secure the booking and the rate" (their words), something went wrong as they didn't book our slot. When I chased them close to the removal date it became apparent they hadn't booked a shipping slot, and frantically had to book it, resulting in extra fees of £570 due to a bank holiday pick up in Malta as nothing else was available, and an increase in shipping rates, despite us having supposedly “secured the rate”.
When we got to the UK, I complained and they agreed with the complaint and agreed to refund the entire £570, but then simultaneously they made additional charges for extra volume, despite no evidence of an invoice of extra charges from the shipping company, who themselves told us not to worry about any extra volume charges. I’m not even sure how the shipment even left Malta if the shipping company had “not been paid” for the correct volume before it left. It just seems the Moving Partnership fabricated additional charges after I complained in order to mitigate the £570 refund. The net result was a refund of only £322 leaving us £248 short. The lady who dealt with my complaint was helpful but I’m simply not happy at all about the whole experience. The shipping company who picked up our goods said we would have been better off using a shipping company directly rather than an agent like The Moving Partnership. We will do that next time as the Moving Partnership only demonstrated that you might just pay extra for poor service and all the stress that goes along with it, at a time when you are already stressed with such a move.

"I'm glad I wasn't put off by past…"
I'm glad I wasn't put off by past reviews of The Moving Partnership. Moving home is one of the top stressful experiences so it's understandable some people come to Trustpilot to vent their anxieties, but I took them with a pinch of salt and it paid off. I got the most competitive quote on the market (surveying approx. 7-8 different movers). John was very personable, friendly, efficient and reassuring in helping me organise my move at relatively short notice from UK to Ireland. The movers were equally efficient and did a great job of keeping all my belongings safe on their journey overseas. I will be recommending them to friends and family. Thanks again John and movers for making my moving experience smooth and problem-free!

"SCAMMERS, Do not use!"
IF YOU ARE READING THIS ABOUT TO CONTRACT A SERVICE WITH THEM, TRUST ME, DON’T
This ‘company’ operate under these 2 rules:
1. Have a fake polite agent on the phone as a front to wash their hands off the services you have payed for them to do because ‘they have contracted other companies to do on their behalf’
2. Once they have your personal belongings secured in their hand demand more and more money under suspicious pretences whilst you are left to contact all the other companies involved yourself and convince them to break the chain of operations to deal with you directly so the process is done.
Personal experience below (not short):
Air freight quote door to door for an international removal provided.
Not cheap, 2 weeks ETA, £4,600.
Contracted instead of 450£ ocean freight of other companies because that takes 3 months.
All documents provided, packing list: box by box cm by cm kilo by kilo with pictures.
Collection takes place, then nothing is heard, weeks go by as you have to force them to take care of the process from the get go.
Suddenly contacted with the following:
They apprently didn’t know air freight charters charge based on chargeable weight, so immediately hustled to pay extra 640£ or storage costs apply until cleared.
They get their money, as what else can one do at that point. No further thing heard of them. Weeks go by and no one knows where your belongings are.
Next thing, forced to have to find out who it is they are working with in destination country and contact them basically doing the service you payed for in the first place because what else can you do?
Apparently, receiving company reveal consignment has been basically dropped off in the airport and is abandoned there because no customs agent or submission has been booked by the company.
Options:
1. Pay yourself again for a customs agent already hired which you have been ripped off for.
2. Chase it up with ‘Moving Partnership’
Moving Partnership again knows nothing about nothing.
More days turn to weeks and eventually:
We don’t understand what is happening we THINK it MIGHT be because custom duties may need to be payed (even though no custom agent is assigned to your case), these duties apparently can only be payed by 1 party so it has to go through with us.
Now, 5100£ under and more money has to be payed for things which are unknown and cannot be coherently explained.
Final situation:
5100£ out of pocket
No door to door service
Whole life belonging’s kidnapped at ransom.
You have to essentially do yourself the service you payed for.
Forced to pray for the help of the Removals Ombudsman to sort out the mess.
IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT BOOKING THIS AND CHECKING REVIEWS AS I WAS BEFORE:
DO NOT!
All the other reviewers/victims are right.
Only they have been brainwashed by their fake polite customer services agent/s like - Matthew Ladley - that it is not their fault because they hire other people to do the service they sold to you.
Based on my experience I highly doubt this is a legitimate company who know anything about transportation more than the layman does, besides having a shady outsourcing incompetent company.
I hope the ombudsman will reach out and do something not just for me but for any possible future victims of this hellish nightmare.

"I used Moving Partnership to move from UK to Spain."
I used Moving Partnership to move my belongings from UK to Spain, and received excellent communication from the friendly team from the quotation stage to final delivery. All questions and queries were answered quickly, the price was very reasonable and the service was first-rate. It was particularly refreshing to be able to deal mostly with just one contact person who knew my details and was always ready to help. Collection and delivery went smoothly and I was always given ample notice of dates and times. It couldn't have been easy, and I thoroughly recommend these guys.

"My move was from Seattle USA to UK"
My move was from Seattle USA to UK midlands. I first requested a quote in early 2020, was given an honest quote which answered all my questions, and I was given guidance on how to complete the HMRC forms.
Then everything stopped for covid. Early 2021 we restarted the process. The packers and movers turned up on time to load the container.
The transit time to UK was extended (sea freight was complicated due to the Suez incident).
However, after my container reached Felixstowe, customs clearance was a formality thanks to the guidance I had been given. The container yard congestion involved a new round of planning by the company, and my things were delivered to my new home exactly when I was told to expect them.
The delivery crew were very helpful, polite and diligent.
I was afraid a Knole sofa would not fit through the apartment door, but they made it happen.
There were no breakages or damage.
I was very pleased with Moving Partnership, and if I ever need to move again, they will be be the first company that I will contact.
I have no hesitation in wholeheartedly recommending their services.

"I moved from London UK to Brisbane…"
I moved from London UK to Brisbane Australia. My goods were packed on the 7th December 2020 and were delivered to my home on 18th May 2021. A long time to wait but luckily was living with my father so did not need the goods urgently. This delay seemed to be due to lack of ships sailing during Covid. Only had 2 items broken but they were not valuable. Customer service was very good on both sides.

"AVOID at all costs!!!!!!"
AVOID at all costs!!!!!!
Used this company for our family move from Uk to Canada.
We paid extra for professional wrap and pack device and promised our furniture would be contained correctly for the long journey. Unfortunately we had to leave the packing to the company as we had to leave early due to work issues..
Now the fun starts.
Firstly, lost a page of our manifest (vital for customs)
Secondly, Container kept getting delayed.
Thirdly We get a call from the shipping agents here in Canada explaining they are Not willing to unpack the container as it was so badly packed. They didn’t want to put there name to it. Describes as packed like shoved into a spare cupboard. 80% of our beloved items and furniture damaged.
And finally Moving partnership tells us it’s not there fault and claim on our own insurance despite paying a small fortune to have extra insurance with them..
If I can save one family from using this company I’ll be happy!!

"Don’t waste your money"
My husband and I relocated to Copenhagen in September 2020 and chose Moving Partnerships after a quote and chat. It seemed that paying a premium would guarantee safe delivery of our things. To cut a VERY long story short - our things were delivered two months later - seven weeks overdue and we were told to pay an extra £600 for the privilege. The co-ordinatior rep we spoke to was often rude to us and spoke out of turn. Our things turned up broken and some packages lost. There was no word from Moving Partnerships on what happened. We received no compensation for having to buy a mattress for two months to live on. It’s truly a terrible, hugely overpriced service that actually uses third party companies a lot of the time to deliver in EU so be aware. In fact - just don’t bother. Next time we’ll use an independent man with a van as colleagues here had their belongings delivered within a week and without damage. Don’t waste your money here. Wish I’d read the reviews!
