"Never again will we eat/drink in Cain's village"
Parked here for first time as it was my turn to drive, machine kept timing out and wouldn't take a payment so everyone walked away believing the machine to be faulty/not working. I've now got a £60 fine!!!! Absolute rip off of a car park and no one to speak to about it. Fortunately we have all decided that we won't drink or eat in any of the Cain's village establishments again so what they've gained in a rip off fine, they've lost in revenue as we have all been going here since it opened

"Giving all customers a PCN in attempt to increase their profit"
I used Your Parking Space app to pay for my parking, which I always use when parking in cities, and haven’t experienced problems previously.
However, on this occasion, I received a PCN through the post from Brewery Gate Limited a week and a half after parking, claiming that I’d not paid and displayed or not paid via another method.
Clearly I had, and had evidence via receipt from the app. Perhaps they’re not communicating with third parties that they’re using, or perhaps they’re short on money and sending out fines to everyone (which seems the case looking at all these reviews) to make some money for themselves, hoping someone will have either not kept their evidence of payment or are silly enough to pay! Keep your receipt people! To be fair, they acknowledged my appeal within a couple of hours and cancelled it which was good but it was silly of them to have asked me for £60 anyway.
Even so, I’m not parking here again for the cheek of it. Additionally, the carpark is too small to get out of the spaces without doing a 10 point turn once it is busy. Obviously crammed all the spaces too close together too to attempt to make more money.

"horrible company! do not park here and give them your money!!"
horrible company! do not park here and give them your money!! I paid for parking Iwanted upto 12 hours I was charged for upto 2 & stayed longer as I assumed upto 12 hours had been charged! I did not get any notification or message off the machine to say I had gone over my time limit!! Instead they waited and I have now received a threatening letter saying I owe £60 and if I don't pay within 14 days they will charge £100. Absolutely discusting! Essentially I owe them £1 as the incorrect parking limit was charged to me & they're making £59 profit off me! DO NOT PARK HERE.

"AVOID - Fined when their machine didn't work"
I parked, went to the parking machine and entered my registration. The machine had some trouble reading my credit card for a contactless payment, but it eventually got there and issued a credit card receipt. It didn't issue a parking ticket but, as many car parks where you enter your registration don't use physical tickets, I thought nothing of it. The machine was clearly ready for the next customer. No message was displayed to show my payment hadn't gone through. I glanced at the credit card receipt and put it in my wallet. If I had looked closely, I might have seen that the receipt said it was a "void transaction receipt" in writing that was partially obscured and, further down, it said "network failed" in small print. However, who looks that closely at a credit card receipt? I left the car park believing I had paid.
I was gobsmacked when I received a PCN from Brewerygate and appealed, explaining the above and providing a copy of the receipt for the failed payment. They have rejected my appeal. So clearly they expect drivers to read the small print on the credit card receipt to make sure their payment has gone through.
If the payment had failed because I had insufficient funds or similar, I could maybe understand their decision. But that isn't the case. The payment failed because their machine didn't work.
I suspect this wouldn't hold up if they took me to court on the basis that they did not give adequate information to show that the payment had failed, but I haven't got time. I am therefore having to pay £60 because their parking machine didn't work when I tried to pay the £5 parking fee and didn't take any effective steps to inform me that my payment had failed. Unacceptable. I won't be parking there again.
Just to add to the above, I tried paying the fine on their website using the same card I had used in the car park. Guess what? Their website rejected it, incorrectly claiming that the CVV was wrong. I had to pay using a different credit card. Totally incompetent.
Edited 3 Jan 2023 to add: Just to respond to Brewerygate's response, I appealed and provided proof of the rejected payment. The appeal was rejected. And really, their response continues to show how incompetent they are as this is set out in my post above. If you are going to respond to a review, try reading it properly.

"Impossible to contact"
I was fined even though I had a pay and display ticket and receipt of purchase for the time parked. The weather was dreadful and I hadn't realised that I had pressed one wrong key until the letter arrived. I sent a polite letter with copies of the above, left repeated polite messages on their answer phone about my genuine mistake but to no avail. Impossible to contact so must presume this is their way to make extra money.

"My 82 year old father in law received a…"
My 82 year old father in law received a notice a d the only thing that connected him to the notice was door number 14. Wrong name wrong postcode wrong car reg. I e mailed them and they said he needs to take it up with the DVLA as they send details to them. Told them he wouldnt be doing that as it's nothing to do with him so the letter is going back to them for them to sort out. I have no confidence they will even bother. Rubbish company

"Received a parking fine from this joke…"
Received a parking fine from this joke of a company. Saying I'd stayed for 30mins over my parking ticket time. Returned to my car on the day and asked the guy at the gate if I needed to put another ticket on as the kids were just inside Arcains going the toilet and I was told it was OK only to receive this fine in the post. Will not be returning so they will be losing out in the long run as me and my family are regular visitors

"A loophole to rob people of their money..."
Their business modal goes beyond car parking charge. If you go few minutes above your parking stay or just enter their car park and leave without parking. You get a letter with a £60 fine... then no further communications, phone goes to operator and email no response. You wait for a reply they take the window they give you to pay online and then it goes to solicitors for £245 fine.
It's unfortunately a brutal approach to rob people's money legally. It's not like this review makes a difference because other people will park without checking reviews. I just hope these harsh loopholes get regulated because I can see a lot of reviews here from many others who got scammed like this.

"PCN number does not exist.…"
After parking in The Baltic Market on the 12th June and paying for all day parking which used only 2.06pm till 5.44pm. We today 15th August received a notice of intended Court Proceedings saying we had over stayed altough we had paid for a full days ticket. After no previous correspondence re this fine. We intend to appeal this as we know we paid for the correct parking at the time. However after entering our PCN Number and Car Registration number into the website, the reply given was PCN number not recognised. Then trying unsuccesfully to contact the company via the mobile number given numerous times. We eventually used the payment telephone contact to try and speak to the company but again automated answer says PCN number not recognised. As previously stated in another review, we intend to take this further if we are not contacted by the company and have no access to dispute these charges. How can we dispute a PCN if the PCN number isn't recognised. We can only assume that this is a mistake and the said fine does not exist.
