"Did the 7 day trial they charged me…..."

Did the 7 day trial they charged me December 3rd for subscription. I canceled the subscription and assumed since they took my money I would have the rest of the month that I paid for. That wasn't the case! They closed my account and still charged me for that month of service. I sent out a contact me form and they never responded! Worthpoint states that if you cancel you still will be able to use the site for the month that was canceled if charged. I would like a refund please!

"Generally I was very happy with…..."

Generally I was very happy with Worthpoint. Absolutely hate the app update. Too busy and does not fit well on screen. Hard to find what you need and I have to keep resigning in even though I click on quick sign in every time. Why do places change was not broken?

"Non-existent Customer Service..."

I pay $26 a month to use this service. I have been locked out of my account for a couple of days and the reset password link gives me an error message every time I try to use it. I need this app for work and I haven’t been able to use it. Not a single response to my THREE VOICEMAILS or emails. Very VERY frustrating. Customer service in non-existent. Canceling my service as soon as I am able to get back into my account.

"This and Google lense are the best…..."

This and Google lense are the best tools for an antique dealer. My profits increased tremendously. I no longer make stupid mistakes and take chances on items and lose money. It's all here to research. Ebay only goes back 6 months. This has been a game changer! I love it!

"Outstanding Customer Service..."

I am sorry I do not remember the young lady’s name who assisted me yesterday because she should be commended with outstanding service. She was intelligent, quickly resolved my problem, and was personable. Worthpoint is a great company and this employee should be recognized as an outstanding representative. Thank you.

"New app update is awful..."

New app update is awful. Can’t even scroll down to see your searched item without it saying “something went wrong please try again”. Ridiculous update. Don’t pay for the app. I’m canceling.

"The app just came out with an update..."

The app just came out with an update, now, when reviewing search results, I can’t get past the first screen without an error message. I tried deleting the app from my iPhone and re-installing it with NO JOY. This is really awful and I want to cancel my subscription. I checked on Facebook and lots of folks having the same issue. You’d think it would be tested before being released!!

"Read the small print. You need the most expensive option...."

First of all, let me start by saying that I have not searched the value of any item on Worthpoint, but I have spent a lot of time on their website.

I was drawn to Worthpoint after a google search came up with a photo from Worthpoint's site of an item I owned. I wanted to know how much it was worth. I often do this type of Google price search - probably around 8 times a year.

The dilemma I had was whether the Worthpoint service is going to be worth the annual subscription fee of $187.55, $256.99, or $439.99. The good news is that they have a free trial of a maximum of 7 lookups, or 7 days.

A free trial is always useful as it allows you to assess whether the service will be useful enough to make it worth paying the subscription. Another positive point.

If you pass the 7th item you can click "Accept" to be automatically charged immediately. If you take no action, you will be charged after the 7 day trial has ended. I give them a positive point for explaining this clearly.

When I see sites which say "We will charge you if you don't cancel", I usually stay away, because I know from experience, I often forget to try it, or end up not having enough time to explore, - so I get charged for something I never had time to test or simply forgot to use. That's my first negative point.

The next question is "Could it be worth it?". For looking up a few prices each year, I found the cheapest service ($187.55) to be a little expensive. It would be a no-brainer at $120. So on price they get a "Pass", at least for the cheapest option. Perhaps I would try it at the higher level, but less sure about whether I would continue.

I then read some of the reviews here, and then went back to the website. It seems that if you pay for the cheapest service, you only get to know the price of the item but you do not get to see the photo(s). That's no good at all, unless I am pricing a very generic item like an iPhone. Without pictures the guide would be useless especially if you are looking at prices of original paintings or other fairly unique items. I need to visually compare the images. That's a negative point.

Worthpoint do not make that sufficiently clear to potential subscribers.

I accept that if you carefully read the terms of EACH offer you could DEDUCE that the cheapest offer does not include pictures, but it is NOT stated in the cheapest offer. That is DECEPTIVE in my opinion. A negative point.

In simple terms, if you want both price AND picture, you have to pay for the most expensive service ($439) per annum. That's the service I need.

Lastly I read many of the reviews here on Trustpilot. Many of the reviews were negative because people claimed not to know that they would be charged after 7 days or after seeing 7 prices (warning, that could be 7 prices for a single item!). They are being unfair to Worthpoint. They didn't take the time to read the terms of service. On the other hand, the world is full of people, who are incapable of understanding words like "You will be charged if you do not cancel". and even more full of people, like me, who simply forget to "try" during the trial period. Worthpoint are taking advantage of people like that.

It's like walking into McDonalds where there is a sign on the door saying "If you don't buy something within 5 minutes, we'll charge you for a Big-Mac, whether you like them or not". It feels scammy.

Lastly, on reading all the comments here I give Worthpoint positive points for, firstly, responding to many of the comments, and, secondly, for giving refunds to unhappy customers, despite those refunds not being justified by the terms of service. (Positive point).

In conclusion, I decided not to use the free trial. $439.99 is a lot of money. I don't want to take the risk that I just won't have enough time to fully test it in that period. (I have a job, children, and other things to do), If it was an "opt-in" service, where you only get charged if you opt-in to continue, then I would have given it a go, but the "We will automatically charge you after 7 days, whether you had time to try us out or not" clause, coupled with the high price, ($439.99 if you want to see both prices AND pictures), means that Worthpoint is missing out on me, - a seriously interested potential customer. Obviously that kind of *opt-in* business model doesn't work for them. They would far rather have loads of people paying due to forgetfulness, knowing that most of them will never complain, a bit like the deal you would expect from a porn website.

"Worthpoint has always been spot on…..."

Worthpoint has always been spot on helping me find what things are worth. If it wasn't for this site, I would have drastically undersold a few of my items. I also want to pot out that Worthpoint's customer service is impeccable. I had a situation with my account and in moments it was solved. Thank you. I would highly recommend this site to anyone who sells on any type of platform.
