"More like fraud than scam"
Worthpoint is nothing more than a confidence game. In my case, Wothpoint bilked me out of $300.00
At the time I signed up for the free trial, they claimed to have some technical difficulty with the free trial. Because I couldn't get a free trial, I requested Worthpoint cancel my account. Turns out, Worthpoint continued to charge my credit card.... Unfortunately, I didn't realize until over a year later.
So I called and emailed, but no response from their support or phone line, I submitted a complaint to the BBB. That went nowhere.
I eventually filed a fraud complaint with the FTC.
Boggles the mind that an internet service company doesn't seem to care about the trust users have in it. Hopefully people will see the steadily declining reputation of this company over the past couple of years and realize it is nothing more than a fraudulent scheme.

"Scam!!!!"
I had started a free Worthpoint trial for 7 free price lookups and after signing up through PayPal it wouldn't let me see ANY prices without "activating" my account. I clicked activate and it evidently charged $19.99 (unauthorized) and STILL wouldn't show me any prices for lookup. This was a total scam!

"Free Trail Scam - Deceptive and Evasive"
I signed up for a free/trial version a couple of weeks back and, due to terrible (or perhaps brilliantly deceptive) web design 'activated' full membership and was charged for the service. Trying to get a full refund has proven impossible. They have also refused to provide details of their legal counsel. Buyer beware, Worthpoint are a scam site that will seek to charge you for a service that you never asked for or requested.

"Not worth using."
I had been a paying member about a year or so ago. The purpose of my initially using WorthPoint was to get the previously sold prices of numismatic items. Sure, they've got some, but using eBays' Sold and Completed Listings or other internet sites featuring Coins, Tokens, etc., was / is more effective than spending money on WorthPoint.
Before canceling my subscription, I phoned them with numerous suggestions on how to improve only to be assured that they'd just completed negotiations with a "well known Numismatist" who'd be coming to work for them soon. But, mañana never seems to come! .... and I work too hard for my money, than to give it to them for "not much in return".

"BEWARE!"
Firstly, all of the information they provide is 100% from past Ebay listings... there is nothing from any other outlet, nothing from any auction houses, just Ebay ... as if Ebay is the end-all-be-all of determining an items's true value. When I tried to cancel my trial membership, I was not able to. Their directions for cancellation do not work and the "help" feature is non-working as well. Clicking "help" only takes you back to the home page. Also, there is no contact phone number. After an internet search, I did eventually locate a phone number, but nobody picks up. I had to contact my credit card before the trial expired to let them know ahead of time that this charge will be disputed when it appears. Just to update, they placed the charge on my credit card and I disputed it, and Worthpoint didn't even respond to the complaint because they knew they were wrong. Because they didn't respond, I received my credit. What a nightmare this company is!

"More interested in taking your money than providing a service"
If so many people have the same experience you should believe them. Worthpoint continues to charge your credit card after you write to them to no longer do so. They have taken their Goantiques site to the lowest page views of any other comparable site because of their neglect to maintain it. They promise fixes then never provide them. Their price guide consists of old ebay results and those taken from their Goantiques dealers. They excel in telling people their product will get better in the future, yet after years it only gets worse.

"Extra charges...watch out!"
I also wanted to try the 7 day free trial, however I cancelled after 2 days. I was charged $24.99 a few days later. I called them wanting a refund, however, they told me that I "upgraded" during my 2 day free trial and that was extra.
On thier site, there is NOTHING said about being charged extra if you upgade, so I had to argue my case. They decided to refund me only half of my money back, so I still got stuck with a $12.95 bill for using their site for 2 days. How fair is that? :(

"Makes Fraudulant Charges on Your Credit Card"
I tried Worthpoints 7 day free trial because I wanted to look something up and find its value. I did not find it and went into unsubscribe the very same day I signed up because I did not want to forget and get charges. It said my cancellation went through but I noticed they were charging me every month for the past 5 months. and DOUBLE DIPPING! 2 - $9.99 charges a couple days apart each and every month since August 2010. I emailed and called and they simply refused to help me or even consider crediting me back for the charges.
Do not trust them. I even googled them and they also have goantiques.com and other sites. I also found them on the BBB with a "F" rating with many complaints just like mine! They simply are not trustworthy so do not give them your credit card info because if you ever do cancel they mysteriously say ... "No you did not." and they will not work with you to help you.
