"Terrible customer service"
I have ordered from company before with no issues. But today I had ordered 2 lobster kits for a special dinner and only received 1. Called customer service number at 2:41pm Thursday, the day of delivery. At first the recording said closed. Called back, picked sales, talked with a person who indicated that I needed to email the issue. Ending up speaking with Operations Mgr/ Customer Service Mgr Randall. He indicated that I needed to do the same thing. Seriously, what kind of messed up customer service is that? He should have handled the situation. I will find another supplier from now on. Requested refund, still waiting for refund email 30 minutes later!

"Lobsters had bacterial shell disease (ulcers and rotten shell)"
The box was soaking wet (leaking). It is a nicely branded but thin box that does not stand up to the shipping journey. After steaming the lobsters, we discovered the lobsters had bacterial shell disease. This disease is where the shell is breaking down (literally rotting and having ulcers). The shell is fused with the flesh and the lobster remains a rotten brown color even after cooking.
We emailed customer service (they do not work on the weekends!) who were very rude and insisted that they would not issue a refund.
This vendor used to be amazing and we had good experiences with past purchases. However, they have gone downhill over the years and now we see that they are shipping low quality seafood to their online customers so that they can save the good seafood for their local restaurant(s).

"We ordered two dozen oysters"
We ordered two dozen oysters. They arrived in with improper packaging. The ice was below the oysters and covered in bubble wrap. Customer service was a complete waste of time. They told me to take the temperature of the oysters to see if they were open. I guess I should have taken them to Urgent Care. No offer of replacement or refunds. No more orders for them!!!

"I would NOT recommend Maine Lobster…"
I would NOT recommend Maine Lobster Now. We had ordered from them before several times and were satisfied. Our only issue before was receiving dead lobsters which is outside of their control.
We recently ordered 9 lobsters for a state celebration we were having on a Saturday. Our shipment only came with two lobsters. Our order was swapped with another order in another state. Immediately after receiving our shipment, I called Maine Lobster Now and they were closed. My husband and I quickly tried to track down our correct order (since the order ours was swapped with was about 3 hours away). We had no luck and were left scrambling to come up with a plan B. We ended up having to spend extra time and money on getting lobster tails at the local grocery stores.
I called the next business day Maine Lobster Now was open. Their hold music stated that they were open on Saturdays (which they weren’t) and I waited on hold for over 40 minutes to talk to someone. After getting someone, they only offered to refund us or deliver 9 lobsters on a day of our choice. There was no corrective action taken and wasn’t apologetic. When asked how they would prevent this in the future from happening or we would take our business elsewhere we were told “I am sure the other lobster places aren’t perfect either.”
We spent a lot of time, extra money, and effect because of their mistake. Their customer service was horrible, and they wouldn’t make it right. We will try another company who will appreciate our business.
I understand mistakes happen. However, how are you going to fix it from happening in the future? And how are you going to make it right? People order lobsters for a special occasion and for a very specific date. This can’t happen all the time. Maine Lobster Now did not keep our business nor did they try.

"Failed on-time delivery and company failed to act"
Ordered 4 large lobster tails on 3/3/2022. Paid for a Saturday delivery 3/12/2022. Shipment was delivered on 3/14/2022, weather related. I was not going to accept 3-4 days late tails. I attempted to call company, but closed over the week-end. Left a very early morning email and message after they failed to answer their phones, so say I did not want this order. FedEx arrived and the delivery guy, a friend of ours, saw the box and original delivery date and suggested that I NOT accept or eat as these were NOT stored in cold storage and it has been in the 50's here. Finally got the company to answer the phone right after FedEx walked out of my office to explain the situation. I was told by some young arrogant man who was disinterested in helping me out, said because I refused the delivery I would lose my money. They said I had to accept the order then call (they don't always answer) and they would reship or issue a "credit". It was too late for either and I certainly was not going to accept a credit for a future order. I may be dumb, but I am not stupid. Told them then to redirect FedEx and I would reluctantly do as requested. Was told *I* had to redirect. I own a business and the shipper is the one who can redirect. Called credit card company and disputed the charge. Some young man I spoke to was absolutely NOT interested in helping me. Kept saying their policy is I lost my money if I refuse. I know from being in business for 40 years that once you accept delivery, then you are at the mercy of the shipper. I sent them *MY* company's policy stating any problems with shipments, we would issue a pre-paid return mailer WITH the replacement order. We offer a 100% guarantee of customer satisfaction. I suggested that this young man attend a Dale Carnegie course on customer relations. Hence this negative review. If I were YOU, I would NEVER even consider buying from this company. There are just too many out there who are great to deal with. I learned my lesson and they missed sending me an order that is now long past its requested date.

"1st time using them---FRUSTRATING!!"
1st time using them---FRUSTRATING!!! On day of delivery, I waited for arrival. Checked tracking said it was delivered already, no package ANYWHERE. I called to find out there was an issue with FedEx plane, couldn't do delivery, all product returned to company! I got NO NOTICE OF THIS!! I had to call & ask what's going on? Got hung up on by one rep!! Called back & spoke with supervisor--no help just "sorry" was told an email was sent out to customers affected by plane issues---I got NO EMAIL!! Supervisor admitted other customers were complaining they got no emails either!! What a mess!! This was a Birthday dinner RUINED!!! Seriously this is NOT cheap and one has to prepare for the shipment arrival, the company can do better!!

"I ordered a 1.75 lb whole live lobster…"
I ordered a 1.75 lb whole live lobster from this company, what was delivered was a 1 lb dead lobster. Also ordered their premier diver scallops which were full of sand. I cooked the dead lobster and it barely had enough meat to make one lobster roll. What good is their guarantee if they don't back it up?

I have bought lobster, crab, oysters and lobster bisque 4 times from Maine lobster now. The first 2 times it was everything I could ask for. The 3rd time my clams were frozen and dead. They forgot my lobster bisque. The 4th time my lobsters were thrown in on top of everything else and dead. I took pictures but you have to take pictures with the lobsters on their backs. They do not let customers write reviews unless they approve them. I wish I could buy from the company that sold to me the first 2 times because if you get what you ordered alive, it is great. Unfortunately after two bad orders I will go back to my other seller.

I paid $292 for alaska king crab and the amount i got was a joke. It was enough for 3 people for ONE meal. When you put in a quantity of 3 the company should note that you only get 3 legs. that's it!!!!!

"Lobsters did not arrive!"
I ordered (2) 2.5 pound lobsters for my parents on Jan 7 2022 for a delivery date of Jan 14 2022. This was my Christmas gift to them. My dad is wheel chair bound and largely restricted to the house so this was going to be a big deal dinner for them. Well, they called me to tell me the lobsters did not arrive. I checked the website and all it will tell me is the order is ready to package. That means it is not packaged or shipped. What a rip off. If they are going to be late, at least send an email or make a phone call. Do not use this company!!
