"Good holiday, but don't expect seats together."

Good comms when booking /paying, not so good when there is a problem. We enjoyed an excellent holiday followed by a cruise on Royal Clipper. Generally an excellent holiday.......but, it would have been nice to have been allocated seats together on the Virgin flights Bridgetown Barbados(BGI)-LHR sitting beside my wife, not on different rows. We were told on the booking that this was a "group booking", and that we would have to check in at the airport to receive our seats. We seemed to be the only people in the queue without a boarding pass, but were allocated seats together on the way out (not all were so lucky). On the return, however we were on different rows. Virgin blamed Imagine saying the desk/gate staff were unable to alter the previously allocated seats (on different rows). There was no answer from Imagine's UK helpline or email (Saturday flight) but the local rep was kind enough to contact her Imagine UK number, who told us they couldn't help. So we sat apart. Upon return I did get an email from Imagine, apologising/blaming Virgin. "unfortunately this is not something we are able to guarantee as we have no control of the seat selection".
Sadly, Virgin claimed to have no control either, and we certainly were allowed none also. So just a warning if you wanted to fly together.

"promise the earth ,change the arrangements , keep your money "

BEWARE DON'T BE CAUGHT OUT Advertised a 'cruise and event' including Brian Conley, my aunt booked for this reason. Got told in November there was a 'scheduling conflict', (in fact he had contracted to do a months Prat Pack tour) . The cruise was more expensive than regular med cruises and less ports and he was the attraction, so they asked to cancel . Imagine argue it is not a significant change even though the featured entertainer's appearance is specifically featured as the draw....presumably then if you book their cruise and grand prix event, and they give you golf tickets instead thats OK?? They kept £1280 ( over 30% cost) even though it's 6 months before and they will resell cabin at full price ! They have plenty of previous ( it seems ) for changing important details and keeping deposits .

Brilliant introduction to Imagine Cruising from Zoe, who took us through everything, answered all our questions, imparting in-depth knowledge of the destination we were interested in. Really looking forward to our Vietnam tour & Criise on 2026.

The staff were helpful and understanding.
They seemed to know who I was without asking, so well done on your record keeping.
My only issue was with the email documents you sent. They were largely unintelligible but that could have been my PC. Your staff quickly agreed to send everything out as paper copy. Thanks
