"My first Tax return experience "

As it was my first Tax return, I was a little unsure on what to do, Debitam directed me through the whole process with regular emails and easy to follow instructions. it was all completed in a few days. Highly recommend.

I contacted this company to help me sort out my taxes.
I was a little behind so expected to pay a fair bit but the costs kept arising very quickly.
The original deadline kept dragging out from advertised days to months. We agreed to spread the cost and NOTHING was done till i paid the entire sum.
When i tried contacting them via email I’ve been told to contact them via WhatsApp? What company does that? Not to mention the person in charge (Tushant) would come up with stupid excuses for not replying for days/weeks.
They promised me early access to some app of theirs, that doesn’t exist and this never ever happened.
They were very patronising as well! When id ask a question to understand the situation they’d chuckle on the phone as you were stupid.
They kept me waiting with my accounts till less than a month before paying the tax.
After i left to go with another company, my new accountant kept trying to contact Tushant and office to gather this information. It took from November till late January to get this sent over after I threatened to take legal action.
They said Tushant no longer works for them but don’t they have access to all documentation and messages/emails sent to them?
Clearly a dodgy company, do yourself a favour and don't get tempted with their advertisement and promises

"How low will they go? From £5k to £500 "

Sent in my accounts and self assessment after discussing with a member of customer services team was assured everything included in the package (£799.98) was ideal for my needs , I didn’t hide any information or withhold anything from them and told them what i required completing

Accountant reviewed then requested I discuss further with customer services team about further items requiring attention
Customer service phoned to informed me I’d need to pay a further £4999.99 inclusive of VAT for their complete service package, I declined and requested all work carried out so far to be returned to me, I was then contacted 30 minutes later they now would be willing to accept £2450+VAT again I declined , an hour exactly passed and they came back with a further offer of £1250 inclusive VAT, I repeated return work carried out on my behalf immediately this was met with a special new customer offer of £500 +VAT on top of my initial £799.98 fee , all these special offers are made via PHONE calls and they try to use threats of late HMRC payment etc to justify their extortion, I’d rather pay the fines than give this company another penny of my money
