"Do not book here!"

Can I give zero stars? Booked a property for a visit in Miami in December. Reached out to the company multiple times to confirm reservation. Was told TWO MONTHS later in February that the house we booked was not available... and instead offered another house for $2000 more than what we initially booked for. Now I am left scrambling last minute for a place to stay.

"DECEPTIVE AND MISLEADING PROPERTIES"

I read another review on here for someone that rented a property hosted by Search A Stay in Miami, FL and just by reading it I know 100% that it is the same house we rented. We rented the property through VRBO and the house was managed by Serach A Stay. The house is in the design district on 45th St. in Miami. The pictures look amazing, like a nice clean house with palm trees all in the yard and even a private pool. And for $970 a night you would think it's legit. The same house is on Airbnb for much less per night and lists more details about the listing than on VRBO, but hosted my another company.
We paid ver 5K for 4nights, this would be more like a place that should charge less than $200 per night.
While we were still there I got an email from VRBO saying that the host canceled my reservation, yet we had 2 more nights. I reached out to the host and they said no worries it was a mistake. Now I realize what the scam is, now that my stay has been canceled I can not leave a review and they know I would be leaving a bad one because of all the issues we were having. Now they can keep renting and people think they get this amazing property, because there are zero reviews to go on, when in fact they are getting a dump.
1. The pool had not been cleaned in weeks, full of debris at the bottom and leaves, the water was so low the filter could not run. My husband became the pool boy, so he filled it with the hose and started to try and clean it, he had to do some rigging on the filter and hosing as something was broken. The real "pool guy" came by after we notified the manager and he just added some chemicals, but we did all the work getting it clean. The last day of our 4night stay the kids got to swim. And it is a small oval pool and about 3.5ft deep, the picture makes it look bigger.
2. The interior of the house was dumpy, all the walls and doors are SUPER dirty and dingy. The bathrooms look modern in the pictures but the updates in construction are poor with patches of caulk and dirty seams. The sink in one looks terrible. The shower knob in one shower fell off.
3. Floors, all the laminate floors were dirty, we are families that remove shoes inside and soon after check in we all have black feet. You could just feel the grim under your feet. We asked the management to come and clean it but no one came.
4. Yard was overgrown in back and front, they could have mowed and done some trimming before we came. Exterior is like a stucco and all black in the back. Can't they take a power washer to it? Roadside trash bin and recycle bin already full when we arrived, so we had to leave all trash in the kitchen when we left.
5.Kitchen and bath-no dishwasher powder, no kitchen towels, no pot holders, no extra trash bags. Bathrooms did not have hand towels either and a slim bar of crappy hotel soap. We went out and bought liquid soap bottles for the bathrooms/kitchen and rolls of paper towels, my friend happened to have some dishwasher packs in her bag. Dishwasher racks are rusty and have black all over them, not sure if that is mold or what. They only provided 6 bath towels and we were 8 people and no extra sheets for the futons. A lady did drop off a bag with extra sheets and 2 towels after I notified the manager. They did not mentioned any of this in the listing. The furniture is different than what shows in the pictures.
I will not use VRBO again or Search a Stay to rent in the future.

"Searchastay is Not Fit for Long-Term Stays"

My roommates and I spent four months at a Searchastay location in New York. Though very fortunate for this housing opportunity, I honestly did not know if we were being housed until I received the keys. There was definitely a lack of communication on the company’s side. From a mice infestation, lack of heat, and a broken oven, a responsive landlord would have been nice. My roommates and I had to fix the majority of our issues on our own, fixing light fixtures and settling with no working oven for four months. If you are looking for a long-term stay, I would not recommend Searchastay, however short-term may suffice.

"If I could give zero stars"

If I could give zero stars, I would. My family and I booked an apartment in NYC through VRBO. The pandemic hit and we had to postpone until September, 2021, which was fine. Two months before we were due to travel, we were told our reservation was canceled. We’ve been trying to get our money back since then, and have still not gotten it. It’s gotten to the point where our calls and e-mails are going unanswered. Horrible, horrible experience.

While the house was missing some important supplies initially, the team was very responsive and accommodating throughout the stay.

We have had an amazing vacation in the home. The management company was attentive when we had questions and remedied all issues very quickly. The home was clean and in great condition. We enjoyed the amenities of the clubhouse and had a super time staying here.

I felt like the house was clean and beautiful however I was disappointed that the jetted tub outside did not work for the entirety of our stay additionally I had to call a few times for repairs like for the garbage disposal. The HVAC on the top floor didn't work for the whole week and the upstairs temperature reads well above 80° every day making it difficult to sleep. Lastly I feel like with such a big open area the living room TV could have been bigger it was a bit hard to see from the four-seater table.

Very clean, great location, and an amazing backyard! The washer and dryer also worked amazingly and overall a great stay.
