This was my first ever experience with tele-medicine. MDLIVE was recommend by my health insurer at a time of my need for medical assistance. I am a believer.
My call to MDLIVE was prompt and efficient. The initial point of my call was to obtain a prescription for vertigo and accompanying rather severe headaches that came about within 48 hours of an anti-biotic prescribed at the local Immediate Care.
MDLIVE physician was direct, emphatic, and to the point that I needed to make an immediate visit to the ER at local hospital. The physician made it clear that my vertigo and headache issues were minor compared to what the physician felt could very well be a life threatening issue otherwise.
After 2 hours of numerous blood, urine, and CT Scans, the ER physician located a severe infection of the abdomen that showed up as sepsis in its' beginning stages. Numerous heavy duty IV antibiotic drips were administered at the ER. This all took place on a 4 day holiday weekend (4th of July).
All of my regular doctors were closed down for the weekend or a week's vacation for them and their staff. And worse, the Immediate Care staff I originally saw 48 hours earlier would not agree to a follow up visit to discuss severe side effects that showed up after I began the drug course they prescribed for me 48 hours earlier. A follow up visit required a direct referral from my family physician (who had just shut down the practice 3 days earlier for annual summer vacation.
I owe MDLIVE and their physician I consulted with a deep sense of gratitude for being available and making the right diagnosis to get to the local Emergency Room ASAP. And an additional sincere thank you to Humana phone staff for listening to my situation and coming up with recommendation for a MDLIVE consult, which is something I had never gave any thought to as a medical professional alternative.
We live in a new age of medical availability, and I recommend everyone open their eyes and minds to this additional method of seeking medical help. Good work MDLIVE, and thank you for being there when needed most!

Had an ear ache and wanted fast attention. Doctor could not give me antibiotics unless she examined my ear in person, but she did give me some soothing effective ear drops. They worked.

This is the easiest way to meet with a doctor when you are ill. I didn't have to wait long and didn't have to get dressed and leave home, which is an advantage when you do not feel good. I would recommend MDLive to all my family and friends. The doctor was capable and understanding and the prescription was sent to my pharmacy in a timely manner so I could get started on my way to feeling better asap.

Realizing evaluation resources are limited in a virtual visit, I thought the visit was sort of benign. The person I talked with did refer me to urgent care for x-rays to confirm or rule out broken bones. Urgent care did find a fractured rib.
