"COOP St Johns Woking"

I wrote to Coop TWO YEARS AGO about the issues with their store local to me. It looks so run down it looks like it is stuck in the 80s. They haven't made any changes. It has gotten worse. One of the fridges that stores milk broke down weeks ago, and STILL hasn't been replaced. Now milk (obviously one of the essentials) is rarely on the shelves. They still do not have a single self service checkout, meaning with the one person usually on the tills, long queues are a frequent occurence. Went in there today and wanted to get just 3 items, and only 1 was available. Appaling! I do feel sorry for their staff, they are doing their best but they really are not helped by the company.

"Delivery driver took a photo of me head…"

Delivery driver took a photo of me head on. He photographed my face and whole body. I doubt he even got the food in the shot! WHY exactly are you allowing that? Surely you train your drivers to photograph the food on the floor?? That is extremely wrong and possibly ILLEGAL.

"Three 'Deals' ordered...problems with all!"

Have tried three orders for their meal deals...issues with all of them!
1. Placed order, items showed as in stock, but when it came to picking, several items missing, deal prices disappear and they try and charge you full prices! Order cancelled! Refund processed quickly
2. Order placed and the actual order was supplied satisfactorily. However! They charge a 'substitute product charge' surcharge of 10%, which is supposed to be automatically refunded in 3-5 working days....14 calendar days later and I'm still waiting, despite trying to chase this up via email and Messenger!
3. Order placed, items showed as in stock. Received no email confirmation but could see 'updating' order status online. Got to time slot for collection and I'd heard nothing. I phoned the store to check and they said they had no order for me! Start making contact via Messenger with the usual 'robot chat' Miraculously, moments later, en email comes through saying that the order had been picked, but with missing items! As with '1', deal prices have disappeared and they're attempting to charge full prices! Order cancelled! Again, they processed the refund quickly.
Four observations...
1. If someone has ordered a 'Deal', they want a deal! If you can't supply the 'Deal', just cancel the order and refund.
2. When you do substitute items you adjust the prices accordingly and arrive at a finalised price, which you debit. (There is no 'substitute product charge' surcharge within that debited amount) If you are able to charge the correct amount in that instance, why can't you do that when you do supply the correct order and avoid the whole refund issue?
3. When you are logged into the site, why is there no record of the actual previous order details? It manages to show items that you've bought, but no order numbers, etc!
4. Their systems are clearly weak! No order confirmation email, no order theoretically at the store but it was in the system somewhere, refund failing to be made.... Sort yourselves out!

"Music way too loud to concentrate…"

Music was blaring so loudly found it hard to process what I was looking for.
Gave up and passed goods to partner to pay for and left to wait outside feeling highly stressed.
Tried again a second time & looked for assistance for help but they were disinterested.
Don't know why the music needs to be played so loudly.
It's very difficult for some people to cope with and not thoughtful.

"Ludicrously high prices."

Visiting Hay on Wye so used the local Co-op. The prices are ludicrously high and I usually shop in Watrose. An absolute disgrace, don't use it until they put their prices down. Ethical? Hmmm, Rip off capitalists more like!!!!

"Last week practically accused of shoplifting"

Last week, I was practically accused of shoplifting by as it turned out the store manager, when he stopped myself from using the toilet and taking my basket inside as he wnted to check/count the items. I said to him when i had finished "give someone a little poser, does not matter how small it is, it will be used" to which he tried to deny, but stopped denying when I pointed to what just happened. I also daid that I resent the implication, and it shows what he thinks about myself. He told me to make a complaint, inotherwords he effectively gave the middle finger, knowing full well that nothing will be done.

I made that complaint, having to go through the coop hoops to do so, and just as predicted by the store manager, there has been absolutely no reply. Which is funny really as the head quarters said they would pass it to the area manager - south/west wales - well i never, what a surprise.

The most pathetic and time wasting card ever. Tried using the card in local store leicester. Cannot get stated discount because... I need to have the local stores app instead!😄 And app is absolutely unworkable. A huge waste of time.. a con infact.
Torn up and dumped the card... and to top it all, I wasted time in getting a card AND had to pay a pound £1 for it.. for the privilege of being treated like an idiot.
I dont shop at any co op stores.. ever.

DON’T WORK FOR THIS COMPANY IF YOU HAVE MENTAL HEALTH!!!

I worked for the co-op, I ended up being sectioned under the mental health act and was stuck in my local A&E. My boss wanted a sick note ( which is fair enough) I was unable to give him a sick note due to being under section and if I left police would bring me back, I also didn’t have anyone who could pick up a sick note and drop it into him.

I was given a deadline and because I didn’t give a sick note to him by the deadline I was sacked.

I even explained to him that I was unable to do so, and I was still sacked.

I used to rate working for this company. But now I tell everyone to stay clear due to being unfairly dismissed!!!

Please be aware of this

"Is my Goff's Oak Co-op simply the UK's best?"

I have been using my local Co-op at Goff's Oak several times a week now for many years and I have to say in my opinion this branch has to be one of the best!
The staff are always so helpful and nothing is too much trouble.
The other evening the shelves were depleted due to a very late stock delivery but despite such a pressured deadline to replenish stock and a shop full of customers the manageress had the entire team working like a well oiled machine. I had never seen anything like it. They were working flat out, stacking shelves and sorting through stock cages and baskets to ensure customers had whatever they needed.
What a fantastic team and management skills this store has!
Even under this level of pressure they were so polite and a smile at the check-out seemed almost like second nature.
My most sincere thanks to them all.
If this store is not the best in the UK then it should be! It's a Co-op benchmark!
