"Not worth it at all."
I used my umbrella for the first time today. The highest wind gust recorded in my city so far was 89km/h, five hours before I used it. My umbrella folded inside out in the first 30 seconds. I bought this umbrella specifically for its supposed durability - wind tested up to 115km/h! It's a massive disappointment. If you manage to hold it into/towards the wind, you'll be okay. Otherwise, may as well use a large leaf. Not even close to worth the money.

Great umbrellas made with quality and style, tough and durable. This was my second Blunt umbrella, and they seem to be absolutely foolproof, surviving high winds and terrible weather conditions.

*** This is my original post and I rated 1 star. The business has since resolved my issue and my update is below. I am happy with my resolved warranty service. ***
My mum bought me a blunt umbrella for my birthday in November 2020.
Fast forward 18 months and one day I open the umbrella as usual, but when I went to close it, it did not close properly and O heard ‘clunk’ as the upper mechanism appeared to have become bent during attempted closure and some parts have separated from each other - a ring piece that keeps the spokes together near the shaft, the inner spring, the cylinder pieces which appear to join the shaft to the spokes.
I took a couple of photos immediately, and when I got home logged my warranty request through the Blunt Umbrellas website on 21 May 2022.
I received a response from Katie at Blunt on 23 May 2022, asking me to post the umbrella to them (at my cost - there was no offer for reply postage), but not until after 13 June 2022 as their repairs workshop (a residential address when you check google maps) was closed and tomaboid potential losses.
I was unwell around that date so I packaged and posted the malfunctioned umbrella back about a week after this at a cost of $12.70 to myself. Australia Post tracking confirms the umbrella reached their ‘workshop’ on 24 June 2022.
I hadn’t heard from them so followed up by email on 2 July.
I still hadn’t heard from them so followed up by email again on 7 July.
Still no response so I emailed them Again on 15 July imploring for a response by close or business.
NOTHING. Not a surprise at this stage. But now I’m pretty peeved off.
The umbrella was within warranty period. As a recipient of the umbrella as a gift you don’t need an invoice, although my mum said she could find proof of payment if they requested it.
These are bot cheap umbrellas! To offer a warranty, respond to a warranty claim with photos evidencing the extent of malfunction, request I PAY to return it to them, THEN DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING - include being so disrespectful as to not even reply to my emails for follow up… well it’s just despicable. Not an ethic I appreciate, and not a company I’d recommend for their product, service or integrity. I am furious that businesses - and people - treat each other like this.
Thanks for leaving me out an umbrella and wasted postage Blunt Umbrellas.
*** It seems like Blunt have had to do damage control after cumulative staff absences - leave and covid impacts. After receiving no response to 3 emails over about 3 weeks (and noting I’d already been asked to wait 2 weeks before posting my umbrella to their repair shop) I published the above feedback. A representative from Blunt advised of the absences and advised that my email was unfortunately swimming in a sea of others.
The rep shared that they are a small business with a big brand - I work with other businesses, so I understand what she’s saying and can empathise. I do just think it could have been helpful if even an automated reply notification had been on during that time to let customers know about the current delays.
Soon after publishing the above feedback I received communication from a rep, and within another week my repaired umbrella had been received back to me.
I can say regarding the repair that I am very happy with the standard. I am grateful they repaired it - as I do love the pattern on the umbrella, which was a gift, and I’m glad I didn’t have to trade it in just yet. They also, very thoughtfully, restitched the velcro closure which had come a bit undone since I used the umbrella all the time in wet weather. I had not expected them to repair that, so that was nice.
Overall, I think the brand is a good quality, and the quality of repair service seems excellent. I am sure the brand provides great service, and as I was advised by the rep, ‘it was the perfect storm’ of business events.
Again, I’m grateful for their warranty service and completion of my repair. I do think almost any customer would be as frustrated as I was after 3 patient communications received no response. I hope the business has a plan for any future ‘storms’ and wish them all the best.
Would I use another Blunt product again? Sure. I hope they work out their service kinks so it’s not so stressful for them in future.

"Worth every cent"
These umbrellas are amazing so well built and love the fact that if anything did happen to it it can be repaired. Definitely don’t waste another cent on any other brands. These umbrellas are come in beautiful colours and I use them regularly for baby wearing in the rain.

I'm very satisfied with the shopping experience.
The first time I heard about this brand was when I was studying abroad in the US. I got my first Blunt umbrella there and really liked it. Well designed, life-long built, tough in strong wind and saved me many times in bad weather. When I went back to China, I got another one for my family. Everyone loves it.
Now I'm doing my master in Australia and I get one more for myself. This one is more beautiful, but a little smaller than expected. Though the overall experience is excellent.
