"Remortgage"

For the most part my experience was OK, but I'm not sure I would choose to use Gordon's again.

I was unhappy with a data breach at the beginning of the process, where an email had been sent containing my name and other details relating to my remortgage to an incorrect email address.

The uploading of documents to the portal was easy enough and I received timely responses to my queries.

However, I would echo the thoughts of another review that it is assumed that everyone knows how the process of remortgaging works, and as someone with very little experience in this area (in fact this was my first time) I didn't find them particularly forthcoming with help and advice!

On completion day the figure received was not the one expected and despite me querying this in the run up to completion (there were a couple of things I didn't understand regarding the process, which was obvious from my messages) I didn't find the responses that helpful. Upon receiving the incorrect amount on completion day and querying this with them, there was little to no empathy and if anything, the 'blame' was pushed onto me for not understanding.

A bit of compassion wouldn't go amiss, when dealing with those of us who are not financially or legally inclined!
