Organising a trip from afar can be challenging and jasmine helped line up rides from Hanoi to Halong bay and back at the end of our cruise too! Mia, our travel agent from bestPrice, was quick to respond via email and WhatsApp, and she efficiently arranged our hotel, and our pick-up and drop-off from Lao Cai Station / Hotel in Sapa Town as well.

Our guide, Lu, was informative and made the tour engaging with interesting trivia about the villages, the plants they grow, and about the waterfalls.

Leaving Sapa, they advised us to depart early due to potential traffic from landslides, especially in rainy weather. Our driver picked us up at 5:30 PM for our 8:40 PM Sleeper Train. He dropped us at a nearby restaurant, where we could relax until boarding time, which I found really thoughtful and helpful!!

The tour involved more walking and trekking than I expected, but I enjoyed the interaction with locals and the fresh, cold air of Sapa.

It'sa a bit sad that due to the rainy weather, we could not visit Fansipan. But overall, I still enjoyed the whole trip!

Because I'm not really into trekking, I think a 2 day tour package woulld be enough for me too.

If you're going around August, make sure to bring a raincoat and water proof, anti-slip trekking shoes!

"Halong bay Capella cruise"

We arranged a 2 day cruise with Rosie Nhung from Bestprice. She was excellent throughout and the Capella cruise was outstanding, just wished we had taken an extra day. We had a family cabin which was fabulous for 5 and a wonderful experience.

We boekten de 2-daagse cruise naar Halong Bay. Onze reisagente mevrouw Janet Tran heeft ons geweldig geholpen. We waren ze zelf wat ongeduldig, omdat we alles snel geregeld wilden hebben, maar mevrouw Tran vertelde ons dat alles geregeld zou worden. En dat was ook zo.
Het was onvergetelijk!
Het vervoer vanuit Hanoi naar de cruise en de dag erop van de cruise naar Ninh Binh was perfect geregeld.
Ook hebben we een visum geregeld via mevrouw Janet Tran en dat was voor een goede prijs.
Omdat onze cruiseboot door een mankement niet kon varen kregen we een upgrade naar een andere cruiseboot (Aqua of the Seas) met zwembad. We kregen een prachtige kamer en een mooie badkamer met een geweldig uitzicht. De kanotour, het grottenbezoek en de karaoke-avond waren heel leuk. Het personeel heel vriendelijk.
We hebben ontzettend genoten en kijken met een fijn gevoel terug op deze ervaring. Echt een aanrader!
