"IPostal functions mostly as expected"

IPostal functions mostly as expected. I just didn’t realize when I signed up the number of small costs to virtually open/scan and shred mail. I think these are important costs to make more clear from the time of signup.

Awful last minute price hike for adding a business name to the address, having 2 credit cards linked to the account, but it says both are not in use and can't pay the bill using them, can't even use PayPal and no way to resolve it! AWFUL! AWFUL! AWFUL!

"Worse than Bad"

We have had nothing but problems with iPostal1. We were going to France for several months. I started an account, but our trip was delayed two months due to a medical issue. They told us to cancel our account now and it would reopen when we were to leave without a problem. When you forward mail to them you need to fill out a form and it has to be notarized. This is done virtually and costs $25. Both my husband and I had to do this separately so $50 there. When I called to reopen the account, they said that it was canceled and we had to go through the whole process again. This was another $50 plus there is a delay in the mail because the particular site the mail is going to has to approve everything. We were leaving in a week, therefore our mail would still go to our old address. It did so for two weeks.

We received mail that we wanted forwarded to us in France. When you do this, you have to decide what method you would like: regular mail, FedEx, etc. When you look at the prices, the site says “N/A” Stupidly, I thought that this meant there was no charge for forwarding since we pay them a lot of money each month so I chose FedEx. They charged me $100 to forward the mail FedEx. When I complained they said that if you want to know how much it will cost YOU HAVE TO EMAIL THEM AND ASK OTHERWISE THEY WILL CHARGE YOU WITHOUT TELLING YOU HOW MUCH IT WILL COST!!!

When it was nearing time for us to return to the US, I wanted to set a certain date to cancel our account. I called and asked how to do that. As well, I wanted to know what will happen to our mail once our account was canceled, would they forward mail to us? The USPS will not allow a person to make a change of address from a business, so what would happen? The person told me that I could program the cancelation through the app and that I could send an email asking mail to be forwarded after the cancelation. I started the cancelation in the app and it immediately cancelled my account, which I didn’t want. I called a different number and said that my account had been canceled but I didn’t want it canceled now. The person I talked to reestablished my account but said that THEY WILL NOT FORWARD MAIL AFTER YOUR ACCOUNT IS CANCELLED, IT WILL BE RETURNED TO SENDER. So, everything the first person told me was absolutely wrong. I talked to USPS and they said that businesses like this have to forward mail for 6 months. So, iPostal1 is not following standard practices.

iPostal1 has been nothing but headaches. For your own peace of mind do not patronize them!
