"Very Best of Vietnam & Cambodia Tour."

Of the 4 tours I've done with Distant Journeys (previous tours, Australia, New Zealand & South Africa), I'd rate this the best.
What stood out was the diversity of the itinerary - every stay seemed to have new and different sights and experiences. There was the assault to the senses of Hanoi followed by the pure relaxation of a cruise around Ha Long Bay, then on to beautiful Hoi An and imperial Hue before a brief stop at Ho Chi Minh City before enjoying a Mekong Delta cruise that featured numerous stops at villages. After an overnight stop in Phnom Penh the was the grand finale of Angkor during our stay in Siem Reap.
Some of the experiences were outside the comfort zone - new foods, even cooking your own Vietnamese lunch, reminders of the Vietnamese War, and the genocide of the Pol Pot regime in Cambodia. But all of these were soon conquered thanks to the support of guides & fellow tour members - disappearing and hiding in a very narrow Cu Chi tunnel turned out to be a joy to perform, and despite not claiming to be a cook, the meal I cooked myself in the cookery class was possibly one of the best I had on the tour!
Apart from the joys that Vietnam & Cambodia had to offer, we had a superb tour manager who introduced himself to us a Heathrow in small groups before travelling with us throughout until our return to London. His whole demeanour and approach was clearly a major influence in the tour group gelling together so well. He was also very visible in making daily reports to head office of every detail and 'minor' hiccup, and I was aware of some of the things that distant Journeys did in response to those reports and action against a hotel that could be said to let some of us down.
So, good on Distant Journeys for building such a diverse, interesting and enjoyable itinerary, and for the on-tour attention to detail by the tour manager.

Just home from an amazing Very Best of New Zealand Tour with Distant Journeys. Peter was our excellent tour guide and there wasn’t anything he didn’t know about the beautiful islands. The whole tour was organised seamlessly with the added bonus of the Distant Journeys easy to use App giving us all the information we needed including the weather, for each destination, flight info and messages. All in all we had a wonderful holiday with so many happy memories.

Truly epic, from the minute we were picked up at the airport everything ran like clockwork. Brilliant, funny and knowledgeable guide (Vikram), faultless hotels and varied tour. We even saw four tigers on Ranthambore game drives.

From the moment we started the booking process the Customer Service Team have been excellent. The Sri Lanka tour itself was leisurely but still packed with diverse experiences. "Distant Journeys/Golden Triangle"

Distant Journeys put together a group trip to visit India's Golden Triangle. The booking process was efficient they kept us fully informed and updated before and through out the holiday. The choice of accommodation was exceptional, the trip was well planed and packed full of additional experiences. The tour guide was very knowledgeable an excellent organiser and went out of his way looking after everyone and ensuring we had an amazing experience.

Our holiday exceeded our expectations. What a trip - Our first to India and definitely not our last. We had an exceptional guide in Yatendra Pal Singh Tanwar. He was charming, extremely knowledgeable, kind, helpful and full of fun - we miss him. Every aspect of the trip was seamless, the hotels were very good and comfortable, the food also very good. We saw and learnt so much in a relatively short time and loved every minute. We had a two day trip to Varanasi added on and this was without doubt the highlight, particularly our dawn boat ride on the Ganges - we had a different guide, Dereham, who was also excellent but we had been spoilt by Yatendra. Distant Journeys you excelled yourselves - we will be back!

The tour was well constructed, the hotels were excellent, there was free time so your weren't rushing too much or moving every day, the tour guide was very informative and willing to help and the coach staff were very helpful. But most of all Sri Lanka is beautiful and welcoming.

Our holiday to Sri Lanka gave us a real insight into the culture and wildlife of this fascinating country. Distant Journeys put together a great team of Tour Manager, Coach Driver and Assistant who looked after our every need. We stayed in some excellent hotels, had a real taste of the local cuisine and we would certainly recommend Distant Journeys to anyone wishing to visit Sri Lanka.

What a truly magical trip to India with distant journeys, lovely hotels, a country with so much fascinating history, fabulous trips. The thing that made this trip extra special was our tour manager Ajeet with a wealth of knowledge, wonderful humour and as a single woman I felt very safe! Certainly a holiday to remember and one I will be recommending to people.
