"Temples and Tigers"

Completely recommend this holiday and Distant Journeys. Everything was so well planned and was exactly what I was expecting and more. Our guide Rishi was fab and we saw Tigers !! Highlights for me other than the tigers were seeing the community kitchen at the Golden Temple and helping make roti and Jaipur, especially having dinner with a local family. Hotels were excellent and everyone was so friendly. I have never travelled on my own and it was fab, pick ups and transfers were amazing and I made a great group of friends. Now saving for my next adventure

The holiday was very well priced. The team at Distant Journeys are very efficient, knowledgeable, friendly and, if we had any concerns e.g. transit flights, were able to explain the process fully. We have done several tours over the years but our Coach Captain, Peter, was the best guide/driver we have ever had. New Zealand is a beautiful country and we were privileged to go on this wonderful tour to experience New Zealand in full.

We were so lucky to have Peter as our guide, he dealt with the 42 of us so well. Sharing his knowledge, booking additional excursions for us to make the most of our holiday and, of course, doing all the driving. Generally making sure we all had a fantastic time. All we had to do was to sit back and enjoy this wonderful holiday and, of course, make sure we were back at the coach on time !!! This was definitely the best possible way to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary.

Since returning from our trip we have been recommending Distant Journeys to our friends. We believe that Distant Journeys have a really successful formula in that the company concentrates on a selection of countries, offers a selection of tours within each country to suit all budgets and offers a variety of options on flights and extensions.

We certainly plan to book with Distant Journeys again.

We could not fault a single thing on this trip to India's Golden Triangle. This company is amazing and we would definitely travel with them again.
In addition to this, I had a big payment mishap whilst travelling and a shop took £350 more than they should have! Distant Journeys UK worked with their Indian partners to resolve this for me and have just confirmed the full amount will be returned to my card. If we couldn't love them anymore!!

"Disappointed."

Disappointed.
Most of the sites we visited were as advertised.
However, the tea ceremony was a demonstration of how to make Matcha tea seated at desks like primary school children and only lasted a few minutes.
There were delays waiting for tickets and finding entrances.
We must have upset the locals whilst we gulped down our lunches at the kerb side - the guide told us this was a big no-no in Japan.
The tours were rushed and then the afternoon/evenings were left open with some hotels miles from any attractions.
In one hotel there were considerable queues for breakfast.
There was much promise but I was left thinking that with more thought and organisation the tour could have been so much better.

What a fantastic holiday. Very well organised and we got to see tigers on our 2 safari’s. The hotels were all 5 star. Shimla was like walking back in time what an amazing hotel and the weather cleared enough for us to see the Himalayas. Would definitely recommend this trip and Distant Journeys

"Very good introduction to Japan"

Japan in Cherry blossom season -what could possibly go wrong? I'm glad to say nothing of importance on our Distant Journey's 'Very Best of Japan' holiday. We really feel that we got to know Japan, having visited well known places like Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima and Osaka as well as less well known ones like Takayama, Kanazawa and Kurashiki. Thoroughly recommended.

"India and the Golden Triangle "

Our guide Vinod was wonderful and his assistant and driver worked hard to make our trip enjoyable. We had very busy days but also had lots of rest time so it wasn't too tiring and all the tours were amazing, have truly loved our trip. We've met lots of lovely people and I liked that there was only 24 people in the group. We're looking where to book next.
