Just returned from The very best of Japan tour. On the whole we had a great time. Hotels were good. We found 35 in the group was too many for one guide. Our only disappointment was not enough time at most of the places we visited. It was all so rushed.

We were fortunate enough to do the Very Best of New Zealand in February 24 and it exceeded expectations. Both Islands are very different and beautiful in their own way. Distant Journeys made everything so easy and enjoyable from the booking process, explaining everything and answering all our questions, to the actual holiday itself. One of the key differentiators of Distant Journeys is their phone app. It includes everything in one place, all the flight details, the holiday itinerary, the bespoke itinerary including the additional trips booked, and even provides room for you to add your own notes. The app provided reassurance during the holiday, providing updates on timings of airport gates etc, and enabled you to check the itinerary when ever you needed to. The other differentiator for Distant Journeys was our Coach Captain, Peter. Not only was he very informative, about the history and geology of New Zealand, he also provided plenty of Kiwi humour to keep us entertained throughout our trip. He offered us additional trips to help enhance our experience including a jet boat ride on the way to the east coast of the south island to break up the journey which was an unexpected delight. All in all, Distant Journeys enabled us to make the most of our trip to New Zealand and would book with them again.

Great experience with Distant Journeys; friendly and knowledgeable staff; and a very well organised trip.
Our guide was excellent, as were the very helpful coach driver and assistant.
The hotels and food were very good with plenty of choice.
We saw all the expected sights with the highlight being the Taj Mahal.
The only thing I would change is the long train journey from Amritsar to Delhi on the evening before the journey home. It’s a late arrival into the hotel and an early start the next morning.
