We had an amazing trip to India this year and the whole experience from first contact to arriving home was excellent. We had a wonderful tour guide who made sure everything ran smoothly and was so knowledgeable and responsive to all our questions. The sights we visited were incredible and the hotels and food exceptional. We loved it so much we have booked another trip with Distant Journeys to Cambodia and Vietnam next year and feel confident it’s going to be just as exceptional as India.

"Great package with rest days at every stop, but one serious issue .. "
We went on the Distant Journeys Very Best of Australia tour. It was a great package with rest days at every main stop, and the best tour manager you could wish for.
However, someone at head of office messed up a flight booking and we arrived at an airport for an internal flight only to be told that we were booked on the next days flight! As a result we lost a day in Sydney, and spent another day travelling to and from an airport. We were offered £200 per person compensation, which seemed too little considering the price of the whole package and the spectacular coastal walk we missed out on that we had planned for the lost day.

"Holiday of a lifetime "
I booked the Grand Tour of India for myself and three friends for March this year. The company were so easy to contact and were always able to answer questions knowledgeably and politely. The tour itself was organised brilliantly to the finest of details and our sightseeing and experience days were full on and no opportunity missed. Our guides were so knowledgeable and helpful. We covered a lot of ground in the month long tour and were pleased to have travel days where we could have rest time but not be cut short on experiences.
On day seventeen I experienced an ankle fracture. I thought this would mean the end of my trip as I couldn’t get on and off the coach but the company arranged for me to have my own car and driver until the end of the tour and pulled out all the stops to ensure I didn’t miss out on anything. What a result! I’m so thankful to this company and their local guides and staff to ensure I enjoyed this holiday of a lifetime.

"Helpful and Efficient"
I have rarely booked holidays on the phone in the past as I found it to be a bit daunting. Not having the option to book online initially put me off but I shouldn't have worried. Denise was pleasant, helpful and efficient in making the booking. There was no hard sell. One ten minute phone call and a follow up after flights were booked and everything was sorted.

Having done lots of research we were excited to be booking our tour through Distant Journeys and had a few questions to ask. We spoke to Denise who was so helpful and knowledgeable about everything we needed to know and made us feel comfortable making the booking. She gave us plenty of time and was chatty and friendly. We have no doubt we’re going to be in safe hands on our trip and will have the best experience possible!

"Lovely sights ruined by a bad tour driver."
The driver was aggressive, dictatorial, sexist and misogynist, with no concept of customer service, and some of the hotels were of poor quality. The sights in New Zealand were amazing, and it's a pity that the tour did so much to make the experience unpleasant.
