"Customer service is amazing"
Customer service is amazing. Designing your own ring is a great experience. Jewelers call you back. Just a great company w good military discount.

"Certain things just need to be…"
Certain things just need to be purchased in person and jewelry is definitely one of them. I found a ring I really liked online but it just looked totally different once I got it, I was pretty disappointed. So I go to make the return and the customer service person is trying to tell me what I want and it was my fault I wasn’t happy, really?

"Amazing start to finish"
Amazing start to finish. Purchased an engagement ring, and two wedding bands on three separate transactions. Everything was smooth on each one! I highly recommend.

"I have had the absolute best experience…"
I have had the absolute best experience with Blue Nile. I have purchased for friends, myself and.recently helped my step son with the purchase of his finances engagement ring. Everything was perfect and everyone is thrilled. Easy, fast and extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff. It is my go too for jewelery. 100%.

"The Delivery Date is Completely Made Up"
Most of the time when a company gives you a "Confirmed Ship Date" that means they have the product in hand and are preparing to ship it. Not Blue Nile! Despite charging my credit card for thousands of dollars and giving me a confirmed shipping date (lmao!), they have no idea where the ring is! Not a clue! Why is it late? No idea! When will it arrive? Beats them!
My wedding came and went without rings and the customer service staff (who are very nice and not at fault) do their best to run cover for completely incompetent management that takes your money today with no plan for getting you the product.
Do yourself a favor and buy from literally anyone else.
Edit: Bumping this to two stars because we did receive the rings shortly after this review was posted when a more senior customer support member took a look. It shouldn't have gotten to this point, and the shipment still missed our wedding day, but they did resolve the issue promptly once the right people were involved.

"PLEASE DON’T BUY FROM BLUE NILE"
PLEASE DON’T BUY FROM BLUE NILE
I honestly don’t get all the (probably paid) positive reviews and genuinely think this company is a fraud as I am experiencing an absolute nightmare…
Long-story short:
My order (an engagement ring) got post-poned thrice by more than six weeks so far and I still haven’t received it.
During my engagement trip to Asia I had to propose with a replica. She still said yes but was upset, too.
The customer service is unresponsive and not interested in resolving the case, refunding the money back to me or even acknowledging the problem. Forwarding me to the legal department apparently takes 3–6 days.
Imagine you spend a couple of grand online and the vendor tells you “Sorry, the product did not pass QA, so we can’t tell you when it will arrive.”
Blue Nile’s behavoir is appaling and disappointing and I can just warn everyone to buy from Blue Nile.
As it is obvious that Blue Nile is in breach of contract, I consider legal action. If anyone have been or is experiencing similar issues, please contact me.
Thank you,
Max

"Waste of time"
I attempted to buy a ring from them (engagement setting without the diamond). When I tried to add the ring to my cart, it wouldn't let me. I chatted with one of their reps and he told me that I needed to buy the diamond from them. I wanted to buy a lab grown diamond from a different site since Blue Nile doesn't sell lab grown diamonds. The guy was pushy and tried to convince me to buy a diamond from them. The lab grown I ended up buying was $9,000 versus a natural one on Blue Nile that would have cost me nearly $80,000. Thanks but NO thanks!
The rep said they could sell the ring but I would have to sign paperwork acknowledging that it would just be the ring without the prongs, that the warranty would be void as soon as I added prongs, the ring would come in a "standard size" and would need to be resized, and a several other caveats. The guy said it was pretty "straightforward" yet having to add prongs and get a ring resized is nowhere near "straightforward" when you look into it.
I told him that all those modifications to the ring would be costly, timely, and overall a complete hassle. He copped an attitude and said he didn't care how much it would cost me locally to get the ring modified. Then he got pushy again and started asking for my name, phone number, credit card number, etc. As if I would ever give them my business after catching an attitude with me!
I called several jewelry stores to see how much the cost would be to add the prongs and to get the ring resized. It would have cost me an additional $800 on top of the cost of the rings itself. Plus the turnaround time would have been at least three weeks. Again, thanks but NO thanks!
I ended up getting the diamond and the setting from a different site and had an outstanding experience with them. They were super friendly and have updated me as to the status of the ring regularly.

"Blue Nile jewellers ruined my ring"
I would give zero if I could.
Blue Nile ruined my ring!
I bought engagement ring from Blue Nile in July 2021 for around £1600.
I have raised concerns at the time about two visible lines on the back of the ring, that look like the ring has been resized. Blue Nile offered to pay for it to be sent back. I refused as that time was busy with my Wedding planning.
Last month May 2022 I contacted Blue Nile to ask if the offer to be repaired still stands. Answer was yes, I also mentioned how the ring head was not right for the actual ring and the prongs were too large and covering areas of the diamond.
A customer rep. Suggested they can change the ring head to the original gallery bar head which would have smaller prongs.
I hesitated as I was not convinced that the craftsmanship was very good, but went with it.
The ring was resized and head setting changed and this was done for free.
When I receive the ring last week I was shocked to see they have completely ruined my ring. The new gallery bar is bulging out on the sides of the diamond, it doesn’t sit flush and the metal is not polished and bent where the bars are. It looked like a complete amateur job. The diamond was dirty with inclusions in places I never seen before and assumed it was damaged too in the process of resetting.
Now the ring has been sent back and after the quality assessment team concluded the repair had met the Blue Nile standards, which I completely disagree with. Blue Nile asks me to pay for the ring head to be changed to a better suited for the diamond four claw ring head with talon prongs.
I have sent images and explained to more than one rep. That my diamond is more rounded compared to more elongated or square cushion cut, it has no sharp edges like the princess cut, that it does not suit this setting. Blue Nile experts failed to advise that this was unsuitable setting and it was not as what they emailed me, the way it was advertised on their website.
I demanded full refund as I have zero confidence Blue Nile are capable or competent of fixing the damaged ring. One of their managers was supposed to call and they have not.
Feel completely devastated and in tears over this situation.

"Don't buy Blue Nile for the warranty"
My wife and I were fans of Blue Nile when we got engaged, purchasing our engagement & wedding rings from them and a couple other pieces over the years. We used to recommend them to friends. However, my wedding band partially broke where a middle platinum band split, causing the loss of the set diamond. I thought the warranty would cover the repair, if not the loss. Blue Nile approved the RMA for the ring and I paid to ship it back to them.
Blue Nile claimed the failure was due to "wear and tear", not a "design flaw", and that ultimately the break was "not something we can repair." They offered a pittance in exchange for the material value or to return it so I could have a third party inspect it. I had the ring pieces returned and a local jeweler look at it. The local jeweler was able to fully restore the ring while identifying the ring failed as the middle band was only held in place by a single solder joint, right where it broke.
Upon conveying this information back to Blue Nile, they claimed they would send the info & damage/repair photos to their "leadership team as well as our jewelers." At this point, all communications from Blue Nile ceased. Despite my repeated requests, I never received any explanations as to:
a) how "wear and tear" caused the issue
b) why wear and tear would still not be covered under warranty
c) what "routine maintenance" would have kept the single solder joint from failing anyway (another disclaimer they made to avoid warranty coverage)
d) how the single solder joint where the break occurred was not a "design flaw"
e) why Blue Nile jewelers could not repair the ring despite being locally repaired by an individual jeweler
I am left with the belief that Blue Nile completely failed to uphold its warranty through false claims. They claim "wear and tear" and I believe this was a manufacturer's defect. As their warranty only covers their own defects and they went silent after presented with an independent inspection, I feel their "lifetime warranty" is little more than a false offer.
Buyer beware.

"Spent a fortune, not so good after sales"
I am extremely disappointed by the support offered post engagement ring purchase.
My partner and I had shortlisted Tiffany's for brand prestige and service and Blue Nile for range, price and service. I told my partner to go for Blue Nile.
The ring he picked is beautiful and he spent a very considerable amount, however I have been disappointed by the following which has tarnished this experience for me:
1. Prong set is not symmetrical
2. Ring smaller than size ordered
3. No offer to try and find a solution to my need for pips.
While I need to send back the ring to fix issue 1 and 2, there had been no sound solution for issue 3.
For background, I am experiencing extreme discomfort when putting the rings on. It turns out in have enlarged arthritic knuckles, with larger knuckles and small fingers. This had been further escascabated by the fact that the ring was sized too small. My other jeweller whee I bought the wedding band kindly offered to upsize my ring by half size and add two pips complimentary. I was willing to pay Blue Nile for pips to be added despite issues 1 and 2, and have had different advice that has been inconsistent. First we were told the pips could be added for a total of $65 USD, and sent to the US. Then we were told the engagement ring needed to be sent to Ireland for the pips. Now we have been told Ireland can no longer add the pips and nor will it be sent to the US. Third time around we were told we could find a local jeweller to add them for us; to which there was no mention that this would void the lifetime warranty with Blue Nile until we double checked this. Fourth time not so lucky still, we were told to buy rubber attachments. Very inconsistent advice each time sadly. This is not a solution for me and I find it hard to believe a large reputable brand such as Blue Nile, that even offers custom designs, and where we spent a fortune at, cannot offer a sound solution. This very upsetting in a time of increased diversity and inclusion, that Blue Nile are unwilling to offer a solution accommodate my condition and to make this a joyful experience..quite the opposite.
