My flat purchase was not as straightforward as I thought it would be, and it took a lot longer than I was expecting. Having said that, Karen Rieveley handled my conveyancing with utmost diligence, professionalism and care. I only wish that the vendor’s solicitor could have been as professional, and then my purchase may have progressed with less delays. Karen works very methodically, and with attention to detail. Don’t expect much conversation, and trust her to get on with her job… and she will deliver what she promises to do.
We got there in the end, and I’m extremely thankful to Karen and her team for pulling out all the stops to get my completion done before the stamp duty deadline at the end of September.

The service from start to completion was excellent, having a named point of contact (business development associate) was most helpful. The whole team were friendly and efficient and matters were concluded promptly. The portal is user friendly

"I wish I could give zero stars"

I wish I could give zero stars. Most cases are handled by inexperienced paralegals without supervision and I’m receiving emails from workers in Sri Lanka. When I finally got through to my case handler (paralegal) she said she has hundreds of other cases to deal with and that I am welcome to write a bad review.

"Extremely poor experience"

Extremely poor experience, zero contact, I must have called the company at least 100 times over the last 3/4 months. I only ever received 1 or 2 callbacks. Documents weren't checked for weeks, so if anything was missing or not accessible I wasn't aware until a month later. I would strongly recommend keeping away from Hodders Law. No accountability from anyone and no genuine apologies provided.

"Hodders Law: an Absolutely awful experience"

Absolutely awful experience. I appointed this company through a third party for simple land transaction Conveyancing. Having paid a deposit I then heard nothing. I telephoned repeatedly and left messages with their Sri-Lankan call centre. Despite calling up to twice a day for the last two weeks I did not receive a single call back. It now looks as though I’ve lost my land and I’m really frustrated at this company. I’m now looking to identify if I can make a claim against them.

Absolute sh#t show of a company. 30 telephone messages unanswered and nearly as many emails totally ignored. A Paralegal is supposedly on my case but have yet to speak to an actual solicitor once. Even their complaints department won’t call me back !!!!

"Do not use this law firm"

Do not use this law firm. I bought my flat with their conveyancing department in Battersea in October 2019 but when I put it on the market in July 2021, I found that the previous owner was still the owner according to Land Registry. Hodders had failed to complete the legal requirement with regard to the managing agents, failed to register my name and then had forgotten to remedy their mistake and so I was not the legal owner. The matter is now remedied but I missed the stamp duty holiday and have to date received no apology or recognition from any of the Hodders directors. I have reported them to the SRA. Very poor indeed.

Been dealing with someone named Cecilia over the past few weeks. Was extremely helpful, especially with my ID checks as I was experiencing some technical difficulties from my old laptop but she was always very patient and helpful!!
