Hodders Solicitors

The team did an incredible job on our recent home sale and purchase, expertly managing the whole process against a tight deadline, keeping us updated at every stage and was always on hand when we needed him, promptly returning our calls and reassuring us during the inevitable bumpy moments. Their professionalism, diligence and meticulous attention to detail were all exemplary, and there is nobody we could recommend more highly for conveyancing.

"AVOID - Made my first purchase an extremely stressful experience"
The lack of communication I received from Hodders is awful. Over the space of several months I wasn’t able call the conveyancing team once. Many emails were not responded to and when you do get through to the receptionist on the phone you are told someone will call you back. Over 3 months I was promised 16 times I would receive a call, I received 1 call back.
An awful service from a company who clearly don’t care about their clients.
It took just over 19 weeks from instruction to completion for a purchase with no chain.
I understand solicitors have been under pressure with stamp duty deadlines but this is not an excuse for the lack of communication. This made my first property purchase an extremely stressful experience.
I would recommend anyone not to use this company.

"Superb companies"
Conveyancingindex .com introduced us to Hodders Law for initial on-line quotes and showed us a very economical- and trouble-free way of conveyancing. We can recommend Conveyancingindex.com offering an honest, polite and efficient service to their customers.
Hodders Law in turn, presented us with super service (again). We have used Hodders Law for conveyancing before, as we purchase homes, renovate- and then sell these on. Mrs Sherine Silva was assigned to look after our case (Second time) and it was a pleasure dealing with her. I found her- and her team, to be very professional, efficient, friendly and to the point. Thank you so much Sherine (And of course Cecilia Delfini, the paralegal) for all your hard with a rather tricky, difficult and time-constraint transaction. You both did it and we commend you for it – it was difficult, but you made it happen! We will be in touch soonest for the next conveyancing - no more tedious looking around for an efficient conveyancing solicitor for us.

"Good"
Sherine is great.
Communication can be even better if the company invest an online platform for people to look at.

"The worst solicitor i have dealt with…"
The worst solicitor i have dealt with and I have purchased many properties over the years. This was a simple transfer of equity and they could not complete as planned. Still open with no replies. Partners just ignore emails. No complaints procedure either on website. Will be taking to SRA. AVOID THESE JOKERS

"The most stressful experience of my life"
I honestly feel that I completed this property sale and purchase myself. It seems that most solicitors are unable to cope during the current times, and these are no exception.
A straightforward sale and purchase, no chain either side. Yet it has taken since June until late October to complete and has cost me a few years of my life in stress.
If I hadn't been as proactive (calling multiple times a day, fighting back when spoken down to etc), I don't think we would have completed until at least Christmas.
Communication is beyond a joke. You can very rarely get through to anyone, and when you do they're rude and unhelpful. The people that are supposed to be handling your case, seemingly have no idea of its current state and they never actually seem to check any of their emails. For the first month, my sale solicitor was emailing the wrong email address for my buyer's solicitor and had done nothing to chase anything up.
I was prompt with everything I was given to complete but still ended up doing most of the legwork for my solicitor in order to speed things up.
We are now almost 3 weeks post-completion and I still haven't even received any sort of financial statement or information regarding when I will receive the left over money from my sale.
I work full time but buying and selling became a second job on top of this. You pay these people a fortune and yet they lack even the most basic of customer service skills.
My advice would be to avoid this firm. I'd recommend some decent solicitors instead, but I've yet to find any...

"Honestly avoid"
Where do I start - for the past 12 months I had dealt with these guys.
I have had FOUR deals fall through at the hands of Hodders (2 x sales and 2 x purchases) due to delays and a clear understaffing problem, admittedly one of them was not entirely their fault but they did act as a catalyst to the situation that made the seller pull out the deal.
The director dealing with my file for a second time gave across false information to the buyer, completely ignoring the information that I told them which was true. At this point the buyer lost confidence in Hodders and pulled out of the final deal I had with them.
The buyer of the property I was selling, unfortunately for them, is a solicitor herself and told me she is reporting them to the SRA.
I think I probably sent in the region of 50 chaser emails and a dozen phone calls to their staff because no-one was acting on their own accord.
Due to this firm, I have lost thousands in wasted survey fees which I will never get back (as the surveyors did their job as expected). I have also wasted mortgage broker fees. I am no closer in selling or buying any property which I hoped to do with Hodders and it has been 12 MONTHS. I have had such a stressful year with sleepless nights at the hands of these guys.
I am trying to clawback my deposit money but have yet to receive 100% of what I paid back
Avoid like the plague honestly.

"Purchased a property by cash..First…"
Purchased a property by cash..First these coyboys gave me the run around and were so unprofessional it was shocking especially the rudeness of the staff....Transaction was complete in Feb, I queried at the end of June 21, where is my land deeds..They responded saying due to Corona virus, staff sickness, back log, blah blah blah...Sent an email again in Sept, responded again with the same excuse....I personally contacted the land registry myself today 03.11.21, they said the application was put in on the 06.07.21, almost 6 months after the transfer of cash....Clearly a bunch of incompetent lot.

"Embarrassing - do not use"
These are absolutely terrible. I started my property sale with this firm which is a simple cash sale, to a gent with no chain, and this was started around 4 months ago.
They do not return calls. They do not communicate. They knew this was a simple cash but I said it needed completing ASAP. Today my buyers solicitors have informed me they are still waiting for hodders law to reply to enquiries they sent on the 1st of September and the 8th of September!!!
This is outrageous, it has cost me £1000 from the sale of my property due to these delays and the buyer threatening to pull out. I am still making mortgage repayments on the house despite moving out a few months ago to ensure this was completed fast. They are useless and I would not recommend to use This firm!

"Great outcome"
Really pleased with the outcome, my sale/purchase had been processed during a busy time, understand the solicitors are under a lot of pressure in trying to get things done smoothly, was a few hickups with delays and lack of communication but overall, I'm really pleased with the way everythings turned out, thank you very much for all your support, its very much appreciated
