"Strengthened my child's writing skills"

I wanted my daughter to have strong writing skills in H.S. so she would be prepared for college. I put her into Essay Writing but after the first 2 days it was suggested that she move to "Paragraph Writing". She just finished the course with an "A". The course was broken down in to manageable pieces. My daughter was able to work independently. Her instructor was helpful and available for all her questions. She is now taking Essay Writing.

"Awesome program"

Awesome program. Great set up. Terrible timing. You should never have to wait 24 hours when you only have a controlled amount of time to complete something you are paying for. School typically runs from 8:00am to 3:00pm. There is no reason why an assignment done in the am can not be graded by 3:00pm. For no reason should you have to wait until Tuesday to get a grade on an assignment done on Saturday. I purchased this program because I received an email stating I had a year to use it. Not true, eight weeks. It's sad because the idea behind it is fabulous and as a homeschooler, my child needs a third party to grade her assignments, but unfortunately I will not purchase more because I want my time and my money used to the most possible output.

"elementary paragraphs review"

I had my 9 y/o (going into 4th this Fall) do the Elementary Paragraphs course this summer. This was a well structured course with a combination of tutorial lessons, quizzes, and writing assignments. This was something that he was able to do independently, but I did find that it was helpful for me to sit with him while he did the writing assignments. I liked having the teacher feedback. For me, this was the biggest reason to do this online course. We will definitely do this again next summer.

My son learned a great deal this summer in the middle school essay course. There is a big change in his writing from when he started. The teacher gave effective feedback along the way. She gave positive feedback but was not shy about giving developmental feedback. The developmental feedback was critical to his success. The only suggestion I would have is to give a teacher summary at the end of the course about the student's progression from beginning to end. It seemed like the feedback was minimal towards the end. He was doing his best work for the final essays. Positive feedback that seemed individualized to the student's essay would have been welcomed. It would have provided a lift in confidence as my son headed off to school. It seemed as though the class ended abruptly. All in all, however, it was a very good course.

I had my 15 year old son work through this course. It was affordable and very focused and paced correctly. I think it really helped him to narrow in on common errors and perfect his writing. It was a wonderful supplement to his studies.

Awesome course for kids, and clear feedback for the student. Great crash course, especially for "catching up," in a short space of time. Great for homeschooling gaps and catch up, also.
