"A Positive Experience with Time4Writing"

I appreciate Time4writing and am confident that the program will help my daughter become more proficient with her writing skills.

I liked the course, thought the feedback was good enough. No complaints there. BUT I felt he worked faithfully every, single day of the school week, and submitted something to be graded or resubmitted daily! Yet, he was one graded task from being able to finish, but couldn't just work ahead to finish, because we had to wait one day in between each task!!! It is very hard to get through with the course in time alotted, if It takes 24 hours to have something graded, then another 24 hours once you made corrections before it is officially graded, so that you can move to next task! That makes it one full week just to get 2 and a half teacher graded tasks done!!! We only missed maybe 2 days during our course period, one of which my Dad was having major heart test done! I wrote the teacher to see about trying to rush through last 2 graded tasks! I didn't seem to get a response! I love the course idea, and the teacher feedback, but it can be too slow, and if it's slow, there is not enough time to finish! You ought to give at least one more week to finish course! We were to the final paragraph ( in my opinion most important, last section) and he didn't get to finish that last teacher graded task in able to get the finished course diploma! Makes me annoyed! I spent good money on this course, he should've been allowed to finish when he was that close!!!

"Not enough flexibility."

Time4Writing can be a great tool to help students improve their writing skills. The teacher we have is good and the feedback is constructive. However, my child is not able to complete the amount of assignments required within the strict 8-week timeline and therefore, we will have to pay for at least a one month extension. My child is only about half way through the course and yet has only 1 week remaining to reach the deadline. My child has special circumstances and a robust curriculum of other school work. In addition, my child has trouble with writing and takes much more time to write than the average student, which is why we choose an online course with a teacher. However, Time4Writing will not make any exceptions whatsoever, and they do not account for special situations. I do not understand why Time4Writing has such a rigid timeline and deadline for this online curriculum. The amount of time it would take to complete a course, beyond 8-weeks, does not require more time from the teachers. Students only turn-in and receive feedback as they move along within the course, so there is no additional work required by the teachers. In order to receive the "Certificate of Completion" I will be paying for the extra weeks until the course is completed. However, we will no longer continue to use Time4Writing once this course is completed and I will be choosing a different writing curriculum for my student.

I have a hard time scoring/grading and giving my kids feedback on their writing. It was helpful to have a certified teacher to give my kids feedback on their writing. I liked that my kids had someone else, besides me, to report to and turn in their work. They had someone besides mom grading their work. The feedback was constructive and encouraging. The program was very easy to navigate. We also had to extend the course a few days, and T4W allowed that one-time extension, which was so helpful because my son had gotten sick.
I'll definitely be using this program again! This time with my youngest, who has special learning challenges and needs to learn to write sentences and paragraphs. Not sure which of the two we'll start with. The teachers are very helpful. So I'm sure we'll get some help in evaluating what she's ready for.

Time4Writing turned my horrid writer into a decent writer!
I was tired of fighting him on a daily basis about his writing. It had become an issue.
We signed up for T4W and it was no longer MOM he had to answer to. He learned how to write, he learned he had to know how to write correctly, and he did it. With little grumbling.
It saved our Mother/Son homeschooling relationship. It made him know how to write correctly. It saved our homeschool year!
