"I'll Be Back..."

Although I wasn't able to actually do my trip and needed to cancel...the customer service I received was excellent. Thanks to Kristopher who was both personable and knowledgeable. I will definitely be coming back when I'm more prepared and ready.

"They just throw away your belongings"

They just throw away your stuff even if you contact them the next day. Yes it was our own fault and yes I know they are not responsible. But you don't even get a message or a call from them that you have left stuff in the camper. We called back the next morning (because they are only available until 4 am) and she told us that they had just thrown away our stuff because they didn't know what to do with it. The worst part is that they had kept all valuables such as Bluetooth earbuds, speakers, and expensive sunglasses. Fortunately, when I finally got on the phone with them, I was able to get my 'valuable' items back, but the rest was simply thrown in the container. I've honestly never experienced anything so bad. You don't throw away people's belongings without letting them know. Would they have kept those valuables themselves or something, because they kept those?
I think it's a very strange story and I think it's ridiculous that things are thrown away. I will never rent anything from Cruise America again.

"Ask for a clean and low milage RV and pick-up at a large CA center"

Plus:
1. great way to travel
2. RV was in working order and nothing broke down, great online guides and RV was very easy to operate
3. Drop off location in Orlando (Kissimee) was great with friendly staff, actually giving us a small discount based on the points below
Minus:
1. we had a very old RV which was basically falling apart (140 k miles, curtains dropping off, door rubbers falling off, airco not working when going uphill, low gear squeeking).
2. The pick-up experience (location was outside op Philly. The RV was dirty on pick-up. Mold in the freezer (although the owner of the place cleaned that upon request), but we found in to be overall greasy, sticky and lost off dust and stains under the benches, in the cupboards etc. Could not get rid of the smell in the toilet.
3. NO RENTAL KITS AVAILABLE. This was very inconvenient as we were flying in from Europe. Literal recommendation was to buy everything at the Dollar store next door (which had roughly half of the stuff we needed). This was a location issue, owner said he asked for them multiple times but he never received them?
4. RV was very thirsty ( 5-6 miles/gallon)

"Very disinterested customer service "

When we picked up our van in Las Vegas we had a very cursory explanation of how everything worked so it was a good thing that we had watched the video several times. Not at any time were we warned that that deadlock could move and lock itself which is exactly what happened on our first night. Our phones and the keys were locked inside the van and we were outside on a Sunday evening with no way of getting back in. Fortunately lovely people on the campsite lent us phones and tried to help us get back in to no avail. Cruise America gave me the number of a 24 hour locksmith which went to voicemail. In the end the local locksmith, who couldn’t deal with the lock on the van as he said they were too tricky, managed to climb on to the roof, unscrew the skylight and drop down into the van to let us in. I phoned the Cruise America assistance line twice and both times the girl was totally unhelpful and said it was our problem. We ended up paying $450 for a Sunday evening call-out but at least we didn’t have to sleep outside - not that the girl on the assistance line cared! There were many other issues with the van and the young lady at the San Francisco depot was very helpful about those. Be warned - they just want your money and are not interested in your holiday experience.
