This was a friendly pub style hotel. Room was quiet, spacious and clean. Good full English breakfast was included.

I have never in my whole life experienced a worse hotel, the receptions customer service was atrocious, there were ants in one of the rooms I stayed in and Tony who owns the Hill House Hotel was so rude, arrogant and obnoxious it was unbelievable. WORST HOTEL EVER!

"First rate guest house"

Excellent standard of accomodation in an interesteing building. Great views but be prepared for a very steep drive or walk to get to the guest house itself. Superb brekfasts.

"Didn't live up to expectation"

The Tennyson House Hotel has a very misleading webpage it say's that all their rooms have been recently refurbished But our Double on-suit room was very disappointing. In the corner of the room was a boxed in area that housed shower sink & toilet the sliding door didn't have a runner on the bottom so was running on the carpet and had done so for a very long time the carpet was worn with a nasty tear the door didn't fit properly there was no bin in the bathroom which I think is a must. And there was someone walking around the hotel in their pyjamas which I though was the owners wife but was told that was not the case she was a guest who was using one of the bathroom facilities! Although having said that she walked through the reception area & straight through to the kitchen? I wouldn't stay here again we only stayed one night it wasn't very comfortable.

Steve and Colleen were lovely, their hotel was very comfortable they even gave us a room on a lower floor when they realised my husband had been ill.Very clean and the food was excellent,full english was VERY FULL english.We will be returning again.I will recomend it to anybody,with confidence.

Very good location, easy to find. It was on the main road but you wouldn't have realised. The room was comfortable although a little on the small side. Very good en suite. Breakfast was very good; good choice and variety. Excellent service from the hosts, very welcoming.
