"Alta Via 1 The Itinerary was great"

The Itinerary was great and we had no problems with our bookings at the Refugios along the way. The trail notes and maps on Kamoot gave just the right amount of information. The Refugios were comfortable and the food was good. The trail itself was challenging (for a 60 year old man) and varied. We had one Refugio where the dormitory was a bit damp. In the early phase of our booking Bookatrekking were a bit slow in acknowledging receipt of our payment which cased some anxious moments but then the information came through and all unfolded as described.

The accommodation in Reykjavik was not very good and there was only booking via phone so it made it a bit difficult
Then when we caught the bus to start the walk the bus driver wanted a coupon which we were never sent and that created problems until we got to their depot to catch the second bus and eventually we were told they had our details
The walk itself was wonderful.
On the third night we weee booked in a tent and you told us (after I sent an email asking for details) that we didn’t need cooking equipment as we would be able to use the equipment in the huts. This was incorrect and we had to depend on the goodwill (behind the warden’s back) of others who took pity on us. So we were unhappy with the lack of correct information that you gave us. When we were on the bus I was trying to call your office but there was no answer. So I think you were not following up information correctly to give us

"Good TMB Experience with Bookatrekking"

Bookatrekking reserved all of our refugios on the TMB in 2024. They clearly have a good relationship with the refugios because everything was in order when we arrived which gave us great peace of mind. The route planning could have been a little better. They simply provided the Kamoot app with links to each day's trek and no real training on how to use it. Also, we wanted to make a tweak to our plan to see if it was possible to pay a little more and stay in a private room instead of the dorms on one night and Bookatrekking would not reach out to the refugio to even see if it was possible to make that change - which was a little disappointing. Overall, it was a great trip and we appreciate what Bookatrekking did for us.

They took a lot of the research, guesswork, and stress out of planning our trek in the dolomites. The guide they sent us was also incredibly helpful. You could book it all yourself if you are so inclined but contacting many of the huts is a little difficult, so this is by far the simpler method.

Het boeken ging eenvoudig en soepel. Echter onderweg waren er wel foute route instructies die ertoe hadden kunnen leiden dat er zonder uitrusting op de verkeerde plekken zouden zijn terecht gekomen.

My experience with bookatrekking was excellent. The Team gave excellent advice to find the right tour for us before we booked. After booking we received all relevant details about the route, the huts and to prepare ourselves. Prior to the start of the tour, last minute information about whether conditions and accessibility of the track were aligned with the huts and shared with us. The GPS tracks provided were not fully correct, but we were always well on track, with maps and local advise, which is always the best way to get around safely. Altogether, I can fully recommend bookatrekking!
