"Go elsewhere! !!"
In 2009 I asked for a quote on a flat I was renovating. Nine years later I'm still getting marketing calls despite telling them I live on a boat! !! Just can't get my details removed from their system!!!!

"After some confusion I must say that…"
After some confusion I must say that the French doors are excellent and the fitter who installed doors was first class, I would not hesitate to recommend Smith's, as I already have

"Door Replacements"
We had our porch door and front door replaced with Smiths. As always, an excellent service with very competitive pricing, friendly staff and the quality of the finish is always superb. Would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family.

"BAD REVIEW FOR THE SAKE OF £246.40!"
Where to start!!!!
Paid £1000 deposit for a conservatory, surveyor was sent round pretty quick, all started off well, then the bad experience started.......
We were told the plans would be sent to us within a few days for our approval which did not happen, I had to chase twice before they were finally sent.
Planning permission was needed, again I had to chase as Smith's said they had submitted the application to the council, I contacted the council myself, they informed me they hadn't received any application from Smith's, application was submitted again!
After a bit of a wait (understandably) we were informed by the council that planning permission had been refused. I emailed Smith's (calling them is a waste of time by the way as you can never get through and when you leave a message no one gets back to you) to ask the reason for the refusal and was told that it was probably due to one of my neighbours disputing the plans. That was an absolute lie, the council confirmed that none of the neighbours had disputed the plans and in fact the wrong application had been submitted and a different one would be needed.
By this point, months had gone by, I'd had enough with the whole thing. I asked how much of the deposit I would get back as it states in their Terms and Conditions “Should a cancellation arise due to refusal Planning Permission/Building Regulations by the local Council, all costs for drawings, maps and council fees (to a maximum of £628 plus VAT) will be payable”.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that would work out at me being owed £246.40.
Apparently not!
I received a letter from Smith's informing me I owed them £70.40! So in total It would cost me £1070.40 for absolutely nothing!!!!!
I'm not an unreasonable person and I know that survey fees, drawings and planning permission (although wrong) needed to be paid for but I was informed that I was being charged for preparing, collating and holding my application on file. At no point are these charges mentioned in the Terms & Conditions.
I replied to Smith's asking them to send me a breakdown of their costs. That was back in October and I still haven't heard from them. This has been going on for a year now from when we first signed the contract and paid our deposit.
Oh and to make things worse I still get calls from the sales team to ask how my conservatory installation went as is there anything else I would like done - LAUGHABLE!
I am now taking this further as this unprofessionalism should not be able to continue.
Hello Trading Standards and the Ombudsman. Maybe even the local newspaper!
Smith's may come back with a comment on this review. Ignore what excuses they make or lies they may tell. I have told the absolute truth in this review.
AVOID!!!!

"Good quality work and great customer service"
Following an initial mistake with the person who measured the windows resulting in a delay of 3 weeks, they came around and completed the job in a timely, clean and hardly disrupting way.
I am very happy with the end result. In addition, l want to add that tbey handled the initial issue in a very professional way. Other people would have tried to bull***t their way around it to their benefit.
It is when things go wrong that a company proves their worth in the way they handle any negative situations. Well done to Smith Glass Ltd!
I would definitely consider them again. And certainly recommend them.

"Very helpful man called Mr Cantwell…"
Very helpful man called Mr Cantwell called to show me what products Smith do. Very wide range of colours styles and advice from him and I had made my choice. Work did not take long at all and very clean and tidy when they left. My only problem was I was given a pm appointment for work to be carried out. Workman came at 9:30am. But kept in touch with me with any queries. Not the first time I have used Smiths and I would definitely use them again.
