"Terrible experience"

Terrible experience. Ordered a knife set for a Christmas gift, and decided to return. After 6 emails with “Azela”, they’ve dropped a 20% restocking fee (which is not on their website) “processing fee” they refuse to quanitfy, and that we’re responsible for shipping costs. Partial refunds offered for us to keep them, now their system “can’t generate return labels.” It’s a scam, and will be engaging AMEX to see what they can do, and also planning to reach out to BBB. Deceptive advertising, and while I can’t speak to the quality of the knives (we didn’t use them) it’s worth reading other reviews here regarding the quality, rust, divots, etc. Still haven’t been able to get the return processed.


*while a standardized reply from Seido will undoubtedly say their return policy is on their website, what was sent to me appears to be a separate webpage that isn’t mapped to the customer-facing site. It appears to be a useful misdirection. Claim the return policy is on the site, send a direct link, but either don’t link to the actual (egregious) details of the policy from the customer-facing website, or obfuscate it to the degree that it might as well not be up there. I’ve yet to find their actual policy linked anywhere on their public site, and keyword searches turn up nothing (except their risk free guarantee, which runs contrary to the idea of a 20% “restocking fee” a “processing fee” they still refuse to quantify, and the customer carrying the return shipping costs). Do not give these people your money.

"Great knife, great gift"

To begin with, customer service advised me promptly over the Seido Chat function which of their chef's knives would be best for a man with large hands. And the Kiritsuke Damascus Chef Knife fit perfectly -- it has great balance, style, sharpness, quality. It ticked off all the boxes for a great gift. It is now much loved and appreciated. It took longer to arrive than hoped for, so it didn't make it until two days after Christmas. My fault for ordering so late in the season from outside of Canada, and then Canada Post, the delivery service used in Canada, took several days off over the Christmas period. So, yes, the gift arrived late which was too bad, but not a big deal.

Terrible! I ordered a set for $313 and I never received it. The company refuses to refund me.

BUYER BEWARE!!! We have been scammed by this company. My husband purchased these knives for me and they were not really my style so based on their no hassle return we started the process. Only now to be told of a 20% restocking fee. I asked them where that % of fee was listed and they are not responding to me. These knives did not look high quality and they state they are Japanese knives but they are made in China. Someone is getting rich off their restocking fees! I most likely will take this up with our financial institution as they are making fees up and the charges are outrageous either way! DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! To add to this other companies I am looking at purchasing, do NOT have a restocking fee. Legit companies that take pride in their product do not try to negotiate by saying, we'll credit you $50 to keep them, come back and say they will credit us $97 to keep them. And on top of that charge a 20% restocking fee that other knife companies again DO NOT charge so don't believe them when they say that is a standard industry charge. Also on their return policy it states we reserve the right to charge a restocking fee but NO WHERE does it tell you how much. If they did, no one would purchase their knives! Again BUYER BEWARE!

Do not buy from this company. Bought for a Christmas gift. They stated 3-5 day shipping. Bought 9 days before Christmas. Did not arrive till 2 days after Christmas. Had already bought a replacement gift. Went to return because when I bought they stated 30 day back hassle free. Now they are charging me 20% restocking fee plus shipping costs. BUYER BEWARE

"Wow. I didn't know they made high quality kitchen knives"

Our first venture into quality kitchen knives. Honestly, I didn't know a knife could be this sharp. It cuts everything very smoothly. Excellent quality. My only regret is I didn't take advantage of the other handle colors. We have black, which looks great but I can see now the way the knife is designed, other colors would look fantastic. Still, no complaints; a great product.

"BUYERS BEWARE, Cheap quality"

BUYERS BEWARE! If I could leave a negative review I would. I thought I did my due diligence when I decided to purchase these knives. Spent over $160 on a chef set. What a scam! I had them for less than a week and noticed rust spots even after I washed and dried the knives as recommended. When I decided to return, they expected unopened packaged in the same condition as I received them. Well, so much for a 30 day, hassle free money back guarantee. Their final suggested was a $15 refund and I can keep the knives. In the garbage they go where they belong. Don’t be fooled by their website. I don’t see my reviews being posted and can only assume they don’t post bad reviews. I should have gone to BBB to get a better understanding of what I was purchasing. This lesson cost me a pretty penny but I’ll be leaving this type of review on all platforms I can find.

"Quality products with excellent customer service saves the day"

WE recently purchased directly from Seido Knives two very nice knives on sale. One of them, Kiritsuke Damascus Chef Knife, arrived in perfect condition, very beautiful. WE used our chef knife in preparation for Christmas dinner and it sliced through sweet potatoes with incredible ease-like butter. We received a lot of comments on its beauty as well . The second knife, Nikuya Butcher Knife, arrived with several imperfections in the handle. Their customer service to rectify the matter was beyond exceptional. They shipped a new knife out to us promptly. It was in perfect condition and cuts razor sharp. In an effort at standing by their products and insuring customer satisfaction, they invited us to keep the first product. We are very pleased with the outcome and recommend them to you.

"Horrible customer service"

Horrible customer service. Received delivery confirmation and within 4 hours I reported knife not recd. Was told to give it a few more hours. After sending another email to Seido was told to take it up with USPS. I did purchase delivery insurance although this doesn’t seem to matter. Would not recommend ordering online
