"Skylux"

Excellent packaging for shipping. Only opened up and mounted to QC the tent. Haven’t camped yet. Easy up and down as advertised. I’m impressed by the ease of operation. Quality build and stitching. It looks like the fold point has an opening in the material if not tucked properly. My only concern is this area for possible water or bug access to the interior. If properly tucked it looks solid however. The only flaw on craftsmanship were the mounting bolts. I had to grind 3 of the nuts to fit the mounting rails as the cut was sloppy. Also, it would be nice to have tags on all the zippers. Overall, I’m impressed, happy with the purchase, and recommend the tent!

I bought the skylux package and as a quality engineer I pay attention to details. The quality of this product is awesome. The canvas is thick and sturdy and the other parts of the box are well made and solid. It is easy to install and set up. Any questions I have had have been answered very quickly by customer service. I would highly recommend this to others.

I wish I can provide a review based on the use and quality of the tent but I didn't receive the tent when I was told. I prepared two trips to use the tent but didn't get it on time. I purchased from Torro because they are a Virginia based company, but it turns out the tent is made in china. I should have just asked for my money back.

Amazing product that is built to last with only a few teaks to their craftsmanship or quality control that would put this over the top to 5 stars. I don’t know if it’s a small company who are overwhelmed with emails, but sometimes it takes a little bit for them to get back. Service after the sale is very important to me and so far it seems like they’re trying, but just swamped. A couple things didn’t line up correctly with the insulation panels, the controller for the lights failed after a few uses, and the mounting bolts seem to be strong enough but a couple have bent while off road and had them snap off while dismounting with the provided wrench while stowing for the winter. All of these things are being addressed by the company and I’m glad they stand by their product.

My tent was very slow in arriving. Torro did respond to questions I had along the way and their communication was good. Since receiving the tent I am very happy with my purchase. Glad I chose this tent, it has been worth the wait.

Update 11-6-20
Went the route of a refund. Needed to ship back everything at my expense. Remember to keep your box! Shipping companies were giving ridiculous quotes. Contacted Torro who offered to assist. They located a good rate for me and set up the return. Received a full refund after the tent was received and inspected. As stated earlier. Young company but great pricing and they stand behind their product. Once the operational engineering issues get dialed in growth is imminent.

My review is literally the same as Kathryn Youngs written on July 1, 2020. We got the same video, heard the same things and still don’t have our tent. We placed our order May 21st, 2020. We have been told on three separate occasions, July 21- August 21- August 25, that our tracking numbers are forth coming. On the last occasion I was told “The shipment has arrived in the US the other day, will be packed and distributed within August 26th to 31st, and you will receive your UPS tracking number via email real soon.” by customer service. It’s the evening of September 8th. I had responded addressing my concerns to Corey with no response. I called customer service about a week ago and went to voicemail. So I called back and followed the prompts as a new customer and got a hold of Corey. He has always been polite and upfront as he was this time explaining how they used to be able to go to port and pick up when they wanted. I asked if he thought I would have tracking numbers within a week to which he said yes. No tracking numbers. To be fair others seem to have the same issues yet are the leased with the tent. I gave 3 stars for now and will update depending on how things play out. It’s a great value on paper but not delivering tracking numbers three times now is frustrating. Hope to update with great news as others have soon.

Received the tent and took it out for a trial run. While we liked the rooftop tent we had a difficult time with the annex. We could not find any instructions included for the tent, annex or awning. We found there was significant opportunity for pooling water on top of the Annex and no way to take out the slack. We also noted in the corners of the Annex where the sides meet the car, there was no way to remove the slack or loose material giving up valuable interior space as the sides were hanging in. Again, without instructions we aren’t sure we’re doing it right but there is one single video we found on YouTube that appears to have the same issues. And when we inquired for help that was the video we were directed to. Additionally, she offered to gather more information. A week later and still no answer. Again a check in. Finally and email saying Corey the Owner was going to contact us to work out the remaining items that day and what was a good time. I suggested morning. We never heard from him. I emailed the next day with my phone number which I know they have but still no call back.

"Happy with my purchase!"

After the initial shipping delays due to Covid, I'm glad I stuck it out and waited for the tent to arrive. Everything is sturdy and well built. The mattress is comfortable and seems durable as well. I bought the larger model and it looks great on top of the Gladiator!

"Worth the wait"

Due to Covid shipping was extremely slow, but the Torro Team did the best they could given the circumstances to keep me in the loop and updated regularly. After waiting almost 5 months for its arrival it is safe to say it was worth the wait.

I have taken the tent out just about every weekend since it’s arrival and I am nothing but pleased. The material seems strong and durable, and the built in LED strips are a great addition.
The tent gives us lots of flexibility as we often get to camp late on Friday’s after work. The ease of setup takes away the stress of finding a campsite with the appropriate tent space. My wife loves the tent and the idea of sleeping off the ground, it was not something she had thought necessary but after a few nights in the SkyLux she is hooked. We keep our sleeping bags and blankets in the tent and are now ready to bug out in 20 minutes after work on Fridays. It allow us to be confident/assured we will be comfortable no matter where or when we make it to camp.

Corey and the Torro Off Road team did a great job!
I would not hesitate to recommend and friend to Torro Off Road and I would not hesitate to purchase more products from them down the road.
