"World Class Rooflights With Service To Match"
Initially, I had a very poor experience with this company before Covid, and I was tempted to write a poor review. To be brief, I had a very poor installation of a triple glazed roof lantern that leaked, and was not in fact completed. Try as I might, I could not get customer service to return my calls, and then came Covid when everything was shut down. Then, two triple glazed panels failed and misted up.
I reached out to Roof-Maker’s customer service manager who, in view of my issues, referred me to their MD. I then discovered the company changed ownership with new management in April 2023. The MD dispatched Mark, his senior fitter, to investigate my complaints. To be fair, I was not expecting Mark to agree with me on each aspect of my concerns, and although he agreed with me that there were issues, he did not go into details. Mark’s assessment of the rectification issues came via the MD, and to my surprise supported my concerns. Also to my surprise, Roof-Maker proposed completing the installation, replacing the defective panels, stripping, cleaning and refitting the lantern, and the MD offered to extend my warranty from the proposed date of completion. Furthermore, and to avoid inconvenience to me (the lantern is a huge 6m x 4m), the MD proposed that Mark and five fitters would carry out the proposed rectifications works in one day, which they did.
The lantern itself is a premium product which had been badly fitted by the previous installers who I understand were not “in-house”, but now the revamped lantern is pristine.
I am glad that I persevered with Roof-Maker, and in view of the complete transformation of their customer service, I would not hesitate to recommend them. Originally, for such a premium product, there were few companies that competed with Roof-Maker, and this is still evident online from their current transparent pricing. Also, originally, I was beginning to think that their low pricing reflected on their follow up poor service, but Roof-Maker have now demonstrated to me that their name and products are something they care passionately about.
I would agree with Roof-Maker's claim they manufacture world class roof lights, and add that they have world class service to match.
Thank you Roof-Maker for restoring my faith in your product, and special thanks to Emma, Mark and Kishan. Your company deserves to do well.
