When I got into a financial mess through being the victim of a scam I didn't know where to turn or what to do. The people at Step Change understood how I felt and gave me the support I needed to resolve my situation. They have changed the whole course of my life. Would highly recommend Step Change.

We were unsure where to go when we were introduced to Step Change and we had no idea where it was going to take us . 6 years later which you may think is a long time, but when you see those bills going down and know that with their help and guidance you have achieved that you feel a sense of accomplishment and you see your credit score rise, well you feel so proud.
My advice, don’t ignore it and face it, they have been our saviours and each person we have dealt with has treated us with the upmost respect and kindness, we could not of done this without them so a big thank you.

Seven and a half years ago I was in a really bad place. I was seriously in debt, with phone calls and letters demanding money I couldn’t pay. Stepchange was recommended to me by a friend. I was sceptical at first; how could they help me, what was in it for them? They talked me through my options and came up with a workable solution, which for me was a DMP. We set budgets and a payment plan, meaning just one payment to cover debts. They did all the hard work behind the scenes and within weeks all the calls and letters stopped; I could breathe again!

It's been helpful to have the debt consolidated and the creditors not contact me directly. I've appreciated Step Change taking this on and it's allowed me to be more stress free. It also gave me the push to stop getting into more debt (that and no one would lend to me anymore haha). I have found it difficult on occasions to get hold of staff at Step Change as they are only open during office hours, which has been frustrating as I work during those hours.
