"Bespoke Composite Doors Ltd - Avoid!"

Bespoke Composite Doors and Windows, has changed, ownership. No longer Dave Hilton.
Saturday 10/9/22, Mo came out to talk to us about a new composite door. We agreed on a door and a price. He asked for 50% deposit and though reluctant to pay before fitting, I did agree. I made a bank transfer - mistake. I should’ve used my credit card.
Monday 12/9/22, a surveyor came out to measure and told us that the door we had chosen was too big for the space.
Mo offered a couple of other options, none of which were what I wanted. He assured me that if we cancelled the order, he would refund the deposit.
On Sat 17th, I emailed and hand-delivered a copy of the same cancellation notice through the shop door - within the 14-day legal cooling off period.
An email on 22nd Sept acknowledged the cancellation and promised a refund within 28 days.
I requested the refund again by email on 24/9/22 and then again on 4/10/22. No response. I visited the shop on Saturday 8th October and asked for a refund. I was promised that it would be refunded on Monday 10th October. Today is the 15th and, no refund.
If you use this company, pay your deposit after the surveyor has been and confirmed that the job can proceed. Pay your deposit on credit card, so if you do need to cancel, and a refund is not issued, you can claim on your card.
25/10/22 - update - still no refund after further chasing. Tried to contact Mo (salesman) again today and he continues to be ill and not contactable.

UPDATE = 31st Oct - still no refund! Terrible business practice

Update - 9/11/22 - We have received a full refund.

"We needed a new front window and…"

We needed a new front window and because we had used this company before when they fitted our front door and wanted to support our local businesses so we went with them for the window. The only reason I haven't given them 5 stars is lack of communication. Our new window is in and we are very happy with it, the price was reasonable and the fitters were excellent. All I would say to the company is to perhaps keep in touch with your customers and let them know what is happening especially if there are any delays. But like I said that apart we are very happy and are happy to recommend this local company

"Amazing experience from start to…"

Amazing experience from start to finish!
Mo who first came out to us is a really nice young lad, a true gentlemen & not the typical pushy sales type you almost expect to have to deal with. The doors were fitted 6 weeks earlier than the other quotes I had received and they also matched their price. Danny & his team of fitters did an amazing job - very happy with the quality of the doors & no mess to clear up afterwards either. Highly recommended - five stars! Great company thank you Mo

"Great customer service"

I had my windows fitted by bespoke a couple of months but couldn’t afford to have the door done. I placed my order On the 2nd of June for a rear stable composite door. Jordan came and fitted my back door today and it looks absolutely amazing. Thanks Jordan definitely recommend bespoke

"Horrendous"

Horrendous. We were given a quote for a job, which was left incomplete over several months during which time they ignored many communications and had left some windows without being sealed in and open to the elements. This was over a wet winter. We were then told to complete the job, we had to arrange our own scaffolding at our own expense. This scaffolding was never mentioned in our original quote. After we paid for this they then refused to repair render significantly damaged during installation saying that this was “cosmetic”. After many long exchanges and the threat of legal action, they agreed to pay for scaffolding and a builder to make good the damage but we had to arrange this ourselves. We presented the invoices and were told we would be paid. Several months later we had not been paid and had to again threaten legal action to get our money.
Avoid these people at all costs! We had previously used this company with no issues, but there is now new management. Josh, the manager tried everything to avoid accepting responsibility and communication is very difficult, as emails are ignored and we just gave up phoning.
I would recommend you find a different company for your windows and doors.

"To recover the £6,300 deposit"

To recover the £6,300 deposit , I described in a previous review, from Bespoke Composite Doors, I contacted my Bank to make a claim on my Visa Credit card. If you have not received the goods you have paid for banks have a legal liability to repay you when you used a VISA Credit card They are then able to recover the amount paid from the supplier's bank account. This motivated Josh to repay me £6,000. Josh also told me that if I removed my previous one star review he would return the outstanding £300. What a stupid thing to expect me to do. All I had to do was go to my Bank and they recovered this amount from BCD's bank account
My advice to all future customers of BCD, always pay by VISA Credit, your Bank has a legal liability to make sure you get what you have paid for. Banks also have a voluntary agreement if you have not paid by Visa Credit, to help their customers.The customer in a previous review whose job went pear shaped should go to their Bank for help to recover the money they have paid.
