"Thinking of using the planning bee read this first"

If you are thinking of using The Planning Bee for a will you need to read my experience with them first.
I’m a 79 year old man who recently lost my beloved wife of 40 years.
I looked around my local area for a solicitor to have a will done and somehow regretfully came across The Planning Bee, not having any idea of what to do I rang them to ask for a quote.
I just wanted an idea of what it might cost me, they said they would send somebody to go through it with me, I asked if they could just give me a rough idea over the phone.
I was told not to worry as there was no charge and they would be able to explain things better face to face, so reluctantly I agreed.
The “ Paralegal “ arrived a few days later, he seemed like a nice guy and talked over my head you need to bare in mind I’ve just lost my wife and in a very vulnerable state.
I have 3 grandchildren 1 is 18 years of age and has autism my other 2 I haven’t seen for over 5 years, because my son is a narcissist and has taken advantage of me for years and has no scruples whatsoever, he left his wife and the 2 lads and his wife moved some distant away, but regardless they are still my grandchildren and want to do my bit to help them for their future, as they are both very young I didn’t know the best way to go about it.
Nick the “paralegal “ they tell you on their website that they are part of certain association ( well I contacted all of them and they have never heard of them).
Nick told me the only way was to set up a trust for them ( and led me to believe they would set up these trust for me) and it would be much more expensive to do that, so being naive I said okay.
When I get the draft will some months later, it turns out my executor who is 75 and struggles to turn his phone on is expected to set up the trust not them.
Of course when I realise that I rang them to query it, I was told that the will instructed the executor that, that was what he had to do, I queried it as that was not what I was told.
I said I needed a day or two to think about it, and was told that if I wanted to cancel there would be a charge for the work that they had done.
Now bear in mind all solicitors use the same software ( I found this out by enquiring) so it’s only a case of going through the software to use the relevant sections.
I decided I would have to cancel it as I could not in all good conscience ask my 75 year old nephew to deal with it.
So I requested a refund, it took umpteen phone calls and emails taking a couple of months after pestering them to be told I had someone come to my home give me what they considered the right advice and they would not be giving me a refund of the £550 I had already paid them.
So my advice think very very carefully before using The Planning Bee ( con merchant in my opinion)
I wouldn’t give them even 1 star, they took advantage of a very vulnerable old man,
This has left me feeling suicidal.
