The tour was above and beyond any expectation that I had.

When you are taken out on a boat to view northern lights, you expect the crew to have the skill and knowledge with respect to navigating and knowing the potential for lights. We had that with the Elding professionals. They also cared about our safety and comfort.

What stood out though - the entire crew embraced and supported our experience any and every way that they could. The customer engagement was superior! It was obvious that the crew was excited to be able to provide a thrilling northern lights viewing to each of us on the boat.

It is always more enjoyable when you see the people “working” the tour loving what they do.

"Great trip"

Eldey is a great ship, especially if you've got a sea sickness as the bottom deck is very low so you don't feel much of waving, especially if you seat close to the middle. Deck is well secured, the only trouble is it can be overcrowded with people when whale is on front of the ship, then everyone is pushing to the front, and you'll get squashes if standing directly by the barrier, or you'll be struggling to see anything, when whales are on the side, then there is no problem.
Anyway, trip worth the price I've paid, Humback seen as promised, crew polite and friendly, plus you'll get free, very good quality photos of the wildlife you've seen during the trip sent to your email via download link, so you don't have to be standing with a camera or phone all the time, and you can enjoy watching instead of fighting for a mobile phone photos :)

Nettes Personal, super Tour, sehr kinderfreundlich, tolle Nordlichter. Wir hatten ursprünglich einen Tag vorher die Tour, die ausgefallen ist wegen des schlechten Wetters. Total unkompliziertes Umbuchen auf den nächsten Tag.

"Fantastic experience "

I had understood that we may not have seen the whales, but when we did it was amazing. We were able to get quite close to them, so although I will be forced to use other people's photographs, they only show what I saw - tail slaps, blowing and the most magical was these wonderful creatures swimming alongside the ship.

"Excellent Whale Watching"

Excellent Whale Watching. The boat had an enclosed cabin and a open upper deck for more hardy individuals. The boat took us speedily to the area where the whales were feeding and we were treated to an extensive display of whales doing what whales do. After some time, there was even a large tail splash from one of the whales which seemed to say go away, you've had had your your show let me eat my dinner in peace! The staff were excellent helping my disable wife off and off the boat and they kept a full and interesting cometary whilst we where watching and photographing the whales.

the cruise exceeded my expectations, I thought we would see a glimpse somewhere in the distance, but we didn't see whales very close and it was nice that there was actually a person on the cruise who knew about those animals. I understand that you can't always see because it's about wild animals and nature, but we saw several whales and dolphins, they clearly know where they usually are and they were really actively looking for them, a nice cruise and it was also nice that sometimes you could go inside to warm up and there were small things to eat and drink to buy

"Took the Elding Whale Watching tour…"

Took the Elding Whale Watching tour today from Retkjavik.
Very experienced captain who maneuvered his craft for the perfect position for really tremendous views of these magnificent creatures. I'm not the world's best photographer but I got some truly stunning photos.
We were lucky enough to witness one of these creatures breach - fully out of the water - not once but three times 30 or 40 meters from our boat - truly a spectacular sight.
Not sure how many whales we actually sighted but I'd guess a good 5 or 6 up close.
As an added bonus, professionally taken photos from Elding are available free and are amazing shots.
The captain came down as we headed back to dock and regaled us with some stories and information about the environment and what is happening in the area to preserve it for all Sea creatures.
Highly recommend this tour operator.

"A great tour, well organised, and (luckily!) successful!"

Had a great time on the Midnight Sun Whale Watching tour. Quite an experience sailing out into the open sea at night, still light. The provided warm clothing to wear, and there was a bar for drinks etc. Our guide gave a good introduction to the trip, and the proceeded to keep us updated with locations of the whales throughout. Really great time (especially as we spotted so many Whales!)
