"Broken from the factory and a big hassle to fix it"

The igniter is faulty and after a dozen emails back and forth they want me to send it back but since I no longer have the packaging they asked me to pay for a new box. I can see this is going to be a great headache so I’ll just absorb the loss. I expected better service from an American company.

Also the design is not great as the cook and drip tray are not connected. It requires you to move both separately which of course results in dripping fat either outside the grill or inside the floor of the grill depending on the direction.

Sadly I recommend you avoid Schwank.

Update to Schwank reply: Yes I am aware that you print that I must save the box if I want to have your manufacturing defect repaired. Good luck with that approach. Weber never referred me to fine print to save my boxes. Your suggestion to change the order in which I move the drip tray still results in fat dripping into the bottom of the grill. They should be traveling together. To be fair it looks like the Otto Wilde has the same problem.

Either we have a bad gas valve or a bad thermocouple. Thermocouple looks like it was put on with a pipe wrench.
I’ve contacted customer service they’re going to send out a new grill.
