My impression of this company is that they reject all claims using spurious excuses and ONLY if you really argue do they start to listen. I think their sales service is good but there is no point in having insurance if they simply refuse to pay out.

In my case they refused to acknowledge liability for a flight cancellation due to industrial action. They claimed this was excluded (which it wasnt in wording in anywhere in the policy). Caveat Emptor!

I have been using Columbus for travel insurance for years. Fortunately I have never had to make a claim, so cannot comment on how they deal with claims . However I find that applying for a renewal of my policy every year , is quite straight forward and the procedure is easy to follow.
The only comment that I would make is that , when offering a discount off the price for customers renewing their policies , it was not clear whether the quote I received was taking the discount into account or not.
