I recently had my gas boiler serviced by Gareth Williams Heating Ltd, and unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. Before the service, I specifically mentioned that the boiler was losing pressure and requested the engineer to check the expansion vessel. However, the "service" carried out felt more like an inspection, with no attention given to my concerns.
To make matters worse, a warning notice was slapped on the boiler for aesthetic damage to the outside flue, which had no effect to the safe functioning of the boiler (confirmed by another engineer). The engineer also claimed that the clearances around the boiler were too tight to access the expansion vessel, even though the installation had met all minimum clearances specified in the Ariston manual.
Unsatisfied with their work, I had to seek assistance from another Gas Safe engineer. This second professional efficiently repressurised the expansion vessel, replaced the flame sensor electrode, and installed a new pressure relief valve. As a result, my boiler is now functioning perfectly.
Overall, I am extremely disappointed with Gareth Williams Heating Ltd's services. They neglected my initial concerns, performed an incomplete service, and left me with a boiler that still had issues. I would not recommend their services to others, and I'm grateful that I had to involve another professional to resolve the problems they overlooked.
