It was quick and easy. Comparing it to my last will (by a lawyer), it's simpler but covers all the important stuff.

I found it a little confusing when I went to set up who gets my kids if I die while they're minors, or what if my ex and I both die? I had to make my best guess, read the will it generated, google some questions, got an answer from Willfull's late night Chat AI, figured it out and I know I have it correct now. The gist is: kids go to their other parent by default so I just had to specify who they go to if both of us croak.

So from my experience, I say that when you read through your will (you are going to read it carefully, right?) don't hesitate to ask about anything that isn't clear. Maybe you were just overthinking things.

"I have never written a will"

I have never written a will. Last year, the financial planner recommended that I should have a will. I spoke with a couple of lawyers but couldn’t find a good month to mark a heavy expense. Then, I realized that I might change my mind in the future. Talking about my personal and family finances etc seemed a bit awkward. I was not ready. Also, I did not know what to expect from a lawyer.

Wilful seemed like a solution. It was easy to navigate. After a few prompts, I was able to view a real will - my first will. It’s cool that I can make revisions on my own as well. I haven’t registered the will but it seems like a straightforward process via Wilful. Overall, I know something about a will now and have a high-level breakdown of steps.

I might invest in a real lawyer down the road. I’m sure a real
Person could have a good set of recommendations. But for now, I have a will. Maybe, as I learn more about the topic, I might manage the will myself and save thousands in will preparation and updates.
