"Good sales team --- everything else was terrible"

Good sales team, terrible experience after that.

We were told they could move our hot tub, which is the very reason we went with them. We spoke with Jason five times to make sure we spelled everything out clearly and that there wouldn't be any issues with the hot tub and other belongings --- he assured us each time that everything was in good order.

Well, movers showed up the day of (who were contracted out by x Van Lines), and told us they cannot move the hot tub. Additionally, they went on to charge us additional fees for our other belongings that were part of the original quote all along (4-wheelers, and boxes, and mattress). We were meticulous in adhering to the space allocated for our belongings, yet these contracted out movers said we had more than X Van Lines allotted. It was day of, and we needed to move, so we had to swallow all of this, and the X Van Lines customer service team assured us "we will take care of you on getting this corrected."

Well I've had 2 dozen calls into that team, and they continue to dance around it. Jason, Nicole, Joey --- no one ever made good on it. On top of all of that, the movers they contracted with for arrival (drop off of the belongings) showed up at 9:30 PM at night. The truck was in a disarray, and it was confusing what was ours versus someone else's.

My wife and I could tell this was going to take them many hours, and they weren't treating things carefully, so we actually helped them organize and unload the truck. Many of our boxes were already broken. By this point, we were just anxious to be done with X Van Lines and the entire experience.

I cannot say this more clearly -- I wouldn't use them again in a million years. Super frustrating experience.

"If there were negative stars! I would rate them"

If there were negative stars, I would give them negative stars! Absolutely the worst move of my life and we are still experiencing difficulty with them. I'm not sure where to even begin....As a military veteran of 26 years, I have been moved all over the world. During all of these moves combined, I've had 2 items in my household damaged or broken. X Van lines packed my entire house have heartedly in several rooms, moved and stored my things 2 hours away. When I returned and asked for my things to be delivered back to me, it was near impossible to reach anyone at their office. I left numerous voicemails, emails, etc. I received messages from 4 different people that had no idea about my belongings or offered any information as to when I could receive them again. When I tried reaching them, they didn't answer or no one knew who they were. I firmly believed I was being scammed because I paid an astronomical amount of money to this company. Eventually a date and time was set up for redelivery of my HHGs. Not once, not twice but three separate occasions the time and date was changed at the last minute. Once on the actual morning of expected delivery. No phone calls or explanations and I could never reach anyone. When my things were eventually delivered , they had lost several of my items that I watched placed on their truck. I've asked for assistance and can never reach anyone. Then, received a text stating that they couldn't find these items anywhere in their storage but would bring me a replacement item (s). We are going on 3 weeks now and I still haven't received these items or heard from anyone at the company. No follow up on the move or serve at all. On top of all of this....I have 22 items that were broke and damaged. And all they did was pack, load ad put in a local storage and redeliver back to me. I have submitted a claim for these but based on the unprofessionalism I have seen and care for my belongings, I do not believe I'll ever be reimbursed for any of it. Some of the items were my Grandmothers China that was left to wife and I that can never be replaced. Chairs broken, plates and glasses. Damaged and torn furniture. Bent metal table, etc. They were paid ALOT of money for the worst move offer lives. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE!!!!

"WORST COMPANY"

First of all, most, if not ALL of the 5 star reviews are bots and are not real. This company only has 1 star reviews and a couple 3 star reviews. DO NOT USE THEM
I was originally quoted $4,300 to move from Texas to Florida by their sales guy, which seemed like a great price to me. Their sales people are your typical shady sales guys, and I am a fool to have ever agreed to listen to him or anyone at this horrendous company.
Just before the movers came to pick up my items, Quality Control calls, and I agree to add $500 as a "security blanket" which somehow added $900 to my quote making my new estimate $5218. I was never told how the quote changed by $900 when adding $500 to the $4,300...
AFTER the movers loaded my stuff into their moving truck, my new estimate was over $7,000... On the company's own website it says "Your mover may not change an estimate after loading the shipment" which was ignored when I brought it up.
The company then delivered my items several days later than the "window" they originally said my items would be delivered, AND they tried to have my items shipped to their storage facility and put into a smaller truck, then shuttled to my location for another $800 WITHOUT my consent.
If you are going to use a moving company use the companies like Pods, United Van Lines, Suddath, or literally anyone else.
Do not be fooled, do not be like me, USE SOMEONE ELSE.

**X-Van Lines, instead of reviewing this and having me change it because I called your employees out by name, how about you listen to the MANY reviews that are all the same and fix your business or close it down.

"Worst experience possible"

TL; DR If I could give 0 stars I would. Worst possible experience from start to finish. They made an already stressful event of moving worse than could have imagined and final bill came out double what I was originally quoted.

The sales representative - Jason Evan reached out. At first he was very helpful, ran through services provided, expectations on pickup etc. We ran through the detailed inventory list - which I provided in comprehensive detail. I was pleasantly surprised as his quote was 40% less than other companies (Mayflower, Roadway, Allied, Mayzlin, to name a few). I did some DD on X Van lines and everything checked out from reviews, to being a carrier, DOT and BBB rating. So I initiated the service. I did mention the # of boxes may change but not by many, to which he assured as long as " I am not including a piano, pool table or baby elephant, not to worry about it".

Fast forward three weeks and I messaged Jason to try and get assurances and finalize the # of boxes. No response to my texts or calls. He completely shut off all communication as soon as I completed the deposit and it was within the 7 day cancellation period.

A QA person, Mitch called me to review do the final inventory, I reiterated the same exact inventory list except - I come to find out Jason had not entered the details as exactly I provided in the inventory list. For example - the king bed and frame which I mentioned were not properly documented. The 3 piece sectional that I mentioned to Jason was categorized as sofa instead of "large sofa". This added an extra $1000 to my move.

Two days later, I receive a call from Dispatch and was informed my pickup window was coming a day early between 2-6pm. On the day of pickup, the movers showed up at 8 pm. Upon a quick inspection of my belongings it was determined again, the cubic feet quoted via Mitch was now underquoted. To take all my belongings it added an extra $1500 on top of the QA. The total of my move had now doubled from what I was quoted by Jason. I had come to realize this was a deceptive tactic used by Jason to underquote my items to get me in the door.

On top of this, the pickup team could not complete my move that night and was told they would come finish the job the next morning at 11am. The next morning, the movers showed up at 12:30pm. They worked quick and efficient but again the lack of communication and unorganized nature of operations is very evident.

I repeated throughout the entire process starting with Jason, the belongings just needed to be in my new location by August 3. I was assured a short 255 mile move would not be an issue.

Come August 3rd, I reach out to Customer Service - on this day and over the course of the next 5 days, they could not locate any driver to deliver my belongings and they did not know which warehouse it was being stored in.

I get a call on August 8, from a representative of a different moving company that they were delivering my belongings the next day. I thought this was very strange consider X Van Lines is supposedly a carrier, not a broker.

The workers of the moving company delivered my items and thankfully everything was accounted for and in one piece. I received a call from Dispatch that same afternoon (after my belongings already arrived), that my items were picked up and scheduled to be delivered the following Saturday - drivers name was different from the one who delivered my items. Goes to show again the theme of unaccountability, lack of organization, and communication that is rampant within the company.

Don't use this company - you'll save yourself headaches, money, and time dealing with inept and scummy people

"Shady company practices "

Do not use! Shady company. Their website states their customer service line is 24/7, that is false. When you get the chance to speak to someone the service is horrible, The receptionist, Rain/Reih, is completely useless and rude. They will tell you they will call you back, and you will never hear from them until you call or initiate an update request. The only manager there, Nicole from customer service, is very unprofessional and rude. They do not track your items and can never get ahold of their dispatch team (movers). I had to wait almost 3 weeks to even get a delivery update. Very concerning. They will tell you your stuff is safe, but have no idea where your items actually are at any given time. For peace of mind, I recommend moving forward with literally any other company.

"Negative 5 Stars"

Unfortunately the guidelines will not allow me to post the majority of what happened. But let me put this in perspective, I was given an initial quote that was not honored, on a follow-up call they increased the price under the guise that for some reason items were not on original quote. Day of pick-up and they show up not in a moving truck (48 to 53') but a rental van from Ryder. I have 6 workers and 1 "lead" that spent most of his time in my office and man-splaining to me that I would not understand. After 2 days of loading a 3 bedroom home - that was 80% packed by myself; they were to pack the kitchen and china cabinet. Since they were taking so long, I packed most of the china and my daughter packed more than half of the kitchen since they were taking way too long. Sunday (day two of loading) after they leave with most of my belongings I am extorted into signing for an additional charges of over $5000 - this brings my cost for a 600 mile move to almost $26 K when I was originally quoted $11 K. Tried calling the 24/7 customer service line and no one answers. I was later told that 24/7 was only for emergencies and when I inquired if extorting $6K for extra charges from their employee was considered and emergency, I was told. "don't take this the wrong way, but no its not." Would like to know what X Van Lines considers an emergency. Also tried to get resolution on the additional charges but was told, "well you signed it" When everything you own is being held hostage what do you do? Original delivery date was not honored so they arrived during a tropical storm but all my belongings were in in a 48' moving van. All of may belongings were topsy turvy inside the moving truck and the 2 people that were unloading we perplexed at how to unload this, they did tell me that they were not the ones that loaded the truck. My items were soaking wet, all 3 bedroom suites were damaged, gouged, scratched, corners knocked off. My desk for work was destroyed, a riding lawn mower was destroyed, hot tub siding was destroyed, and hot tub was cracked almost in half - they even managed to damage a fireproof safe. My hardwood floors were scratched, holes in the walls and ceilings and all sorts of dings and scuffs on the walls. I cannot even begin to list the damages done to my belongings and home, not to mention the personal photos and artwork that was destroyed from being left in the driveway during the pouring down rain. X Van Lines response while I was sending photos of the damages, just to send me a claim from stating I have 14 days to file a claim. DOT regs say this is 9 months. I have been intimidated, extorted and dismissed by this company. They will pull the bait and switch on you, do not use them. Also like you I thought I was doing my due diligence in researching the reviews of this company but was told by someone that is in marketing that a lot of the reviews were AI or bot generated and they showed me how to look for these in the future. Buyer beware or you will be like me and looking for a lawyer to recoup damages.

"They will try to hook you with a big promise."

I am using this company now to move my furniture from San Jose, CA to Seattle, WA. Initially called them and got an estimate. Estimate was $3900, and delivery in a few days, no waiting or storage or anything. 1 day before the moving, another customer service calls, I get a new estimate of $5500! He says that would be at most but driver will decide! Comes the moving day, the driver now has a new estimate on the spot and it is $8100!! Turns out it is so much more than they thought! Everything is planned already so I cannot back out. I said okay I will at least get quick delivery. Fast forward to a few days later, promised delivery window was Tuesday or Wednesday. on Wednesday, I got an update from the company that my stuff is about to get on the road! Driver texts me and says HE IS IN LOS ANGELES and will get on the road SOON! So yeah, DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING THEY SAY OVER THE PHONE!

"Terrible company"

Terrible company, bad service, bad employees, zero communication, DO NOT USE!!! They constantly lied about delivery dates, would not return calls, would get put on hold for hours then they would hang up. This company is sloppy and to be honest seems like a scam that is somehow legal, again DO NOT USE

"Dishonest business practices"

Customer service is great until they take your very large non refundable deposit. Do not select this mover. They use pressure tactics and threats of fines after you have signed. I haven’t even started my move and they are unable to answer questions regarding costs. I deeply regret giving them my business. Save yourself dollars and aggravation, do not use them. Also they don’t even respond to these negative reviews. Check out trust pilot on that subject.
