We recently had a disappointing experience with Amstar due to misleading information provided during the booking process. We were informed that the zip-lining activity could accommodate individuals weighing up to 500 pounds, which led us to book the excursion. However, upon arrival, my fiancé, who is 6’7” and 275 pounds, was denied participation. This resulted in us losing an entire day of our vacation.
Additionally, the following day we booked an adults-only hip-hop party boat. Contrary to what was advertised, there were children present throughout the event, and no hip-hop music was played. These misrepresentations significantly impacted our experience and fell short of the expectations set during the booking process.

The Amstar representative at my resort did not provide a scale or offer another option to weight me at the time of booking the zipline excursion.
Only after signing the booking and arriving at the Chukka was I provided a scale. I was told that I was over the weight limit and unable to get a refund.
Not having a scale when booking the excursion is completely counter intuitive when you have weight restrictions.
This is a scam to gather money from unsuspecting tourists!

Some friends and booked an excursion with then in December in Montego Bay. I ended up getting sick and could not go and they kept all of my money. I even contacted the vendor who told me I should get a refund. I wouldn't recommend booking excursions through Amstar montego bay jamaica

"Avoid at all costs - I was robbed on their tour "
Avoid at all costs! I was robbed on their tour! I took part in a trip to Saona island where my drone was stolen. Amstar did nothing to help the situation. It took two days to get an answer from customer service and even though we were told to leave our belongings on their bus under the supervision when we took break to use the toilet, they maintained that they were not responsible for having my drone stolen on one of their excursions. They wouldn’t pay for a cab to take me to visit the police station so I could file a report and they didn’t refund me the money for the excursion. They did absolutely nothing to help. In fact, they took days to even investigate the issue. By far the worst tour company you can book with. AVOID!

We booked a tour online with a link from Apple where we booked our trip the tour was for Quiles and they ripped us off because they didn’t have enough people but how was this our fault

We recently traveled to Tulum for my sister’s milestone birthday. We had not issues during our travel for arrival transport or destination transport. But upon our return/departure the driver took us to the Cancun airport and not Tulum which made us miss our flight. Amstar made us wait in the airport parking lot for 5hrs before they could resolve the issue. Because they wanted the driver to pay for the airfare out of pocket vs paying for it as a corporate (they said it’s the drivers fault he has to pay for it). Of course the driver did not have the $5k USD to get us on a list minute flight for three adults. I was floored. I told them they just need to be honest with us ambit what’s happening so this can be resolved. They finally settled on getting us a hotel and a flight for the next day which they would pay for. They were to provide a like for like experience meaning all-inclusive for all-inclusive and they agreed. But here’s the catch they sent us to the hotel and did not secure reservations they just called to see if they had availability. They fully expected us to pay and then pray to be reimbursed. It was unreal the amount of deceit and misinformation we experienced. Thank goodness for Martin at the Breathless Cancun Soul who took care of us or we would have been stranded in Cancun as the driver just left us there, Amstar left us in a foreign country with no transport or support. It was utterly disgusting, made us feel unsafe and afraid.
I’m completely disgusted and still looking for ways to resolve the issue now that I’m safely home. Please be careful using their services.

"Extremely Disappointing Experience with Amstar Transportation - Beware!"
I recently booked private transportation with Amstar and had a highly disappointing experience. I booked their service to be picked up from the airport. My flight landed at 2:30 PM, but despite this, I was not picked up until 4:20 PM, leaving me and my two kids stranded for nearly two hours. While I understand that delays can happen, the lack of communication and support during this wait was unacceptable.
On the day of my return trip, I requested to be picked up two hours earlier to ensure I could make my international flight on time. I was told that they refused to adjust the pickup time, and their response was that I was “more than welcome to cancel the transport and get a taxi.” When I inquired about a refund, the representative bluntly stated that Amstar would not refund me, and I should try to get a refund from CheapCaribbean instead.
This is by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I would strongly advise against booking Amstar, especially if you are traveling with kids. The lack of reliability and poor customer service made our trip unnecessarily stressful.

"It’s the luck of the draw"
I have always used this company for airport transfer in D.R. Multiple times no issue. However in Jamaica it was disorganized but it worked out so I inquired about an atv excursion for 3 adults and two kids.They sold me a horrible excursion to yaaman adventure park Jamaica. Currently I am going thru the process of looking to get a refund. I don’t know yet if they will but they should. There is no space on the site to describe how horrible the experience went. Shame on amstar for putting there reputation on that scam excursion.

Please Do not use this Company. I could not do the excretion. Ask for a refund. They did not give my money back. The people they have worked for them is a joke. Very rude. And give out wrong information. I will not use this Company again. I wish, I did not have to put that one Star. Because they Don’t need That. TRASH as a company.

"Lack of responsibility "
I used their transportation services when I visited Cancun. The driver did not unload all of our luggage. Once I realized all items were not unloaded I immediately contacted the on-site Amstar representative at our resort. In the end, I was told the luggage was not on the van and that I gave the driver verbal confirmation that I had all items. I never spoke with the driver as the concierge handled the exchange so that was a lie. My husband waited to get in the shuttle until all items were loaded on and saw the driver load the item. In the end, Amstar did not take responsibility for the driver's mishap.
