"6 weeks to receive refund/super slow to ship out product."
I placed a few orders with MEC over the last 3 months. The first one was for clothing. Majority of my order was great, good quality. One article was damaged. I called and talked to customer service. They emailed me a return postage slip and this part of the process went smoothly. My One star review is for the slow processing time of the refund. Don’t lose your tracking info, nowhere in your account does it show that your refund is being processed and even though they supplied the return slip they knew nothing about it. At 6 weeks and a few calls later I finally received my refund.
My second order and probably my last, was placed 5 days ago and it still has not been shipped. I was informed that it might be shipped early next week. Most companies ship within a few days. Time to speed up your refund & shipping MEC.

3 MONTHS WAITING FOR A RETURN FOR THE ORDER Order #EU20343 and I still haven't got any news from them, despiste I have written emails and tried to reach them multiple times. When it comes to get the money from you they are ultra fast, but when they have to give it back it is a real nightmare.

"About as bad as it gets"
About as bad as it gets. 6 to 8 weeks to manage a simple return. This is on a $400 plus item. It’s winter gear so by the time the return is processed it will be summer.
Using Covid excuse. Got to be kidding when returns take no interpersonal interaction. Unless company has commmited to poor service.

"Great variety of outdoor gear and excellent house brand"
I love MEC, although I don't find they have many sales so the prices can be higher than other stores. Their warranty and return policies, particularly on their MEC brand, are great. They sometimes have free shipping with no minimum and usually free over $50. My only complaint is they don't have a lot of stores if you want to try their clothing on so you have to rely on customer reviews.

"Great service for returned item."
Ordered mitts that arrived quickly but were damaged. Got great service for the return and was able to move up a size without a hassle. The replacement pair was long to arrive but that was due to CN post not MEC. The mitts are not as warm as I hoped but that may be my hands - always icy. I would shop again with MEC. My husband got his mitts in record time.

"MEC has gone so downhill this year"
MEC has gone so downhill this year.to start with they have had a big problem keeping stock in the store so you must always order online .we went out of our way to shop local this year.i ordered darn tough socks for my girls in November.almost two months later i am still waiting and yet MEC refuses to file the service ticket required so that Canada post can investigate.i was told finally by supervisor that tifg i did not receive the item in the next week i could call and they would put it through .i called today to be told no they still would not do it.as well i called a couple weeks ago nd an call person just cut me off put me on hok,d and never came back.these socks were available on amazon and would have been here way before Christmas but we were loyal to MEC sadly they were anot loyal back.plenty of other good outdoor stores many with better sale and service and stock on hand

I love shopping at MEC. It's got everything I need for heading out in the backcountry. Granted, some things are a little pricey but that's what you pay for quality. I would sooner support them than Amazon. I always stop at MEC when I'm in a big city that has one.

Mec stole $5 from me. I was told I was buying a membership to a co-op, though recent events have proven that to be false. When I submitted the proper paperwork to have my share refunded I was denied. Do not support this shady company. Take your business to smaller, independent stores.
