"Great job today"
Had 2 lovely guys here today, Craig and Ric carrying out work on back wall of our house due to damp. Great job, they worked hard and left everything clean and tidy.

"Quickly sorted, superb job"
I had a survey done re damp and Home Energy Save came out very quickly and we got a quick date to do the work. Ron and John came to do the work, arrived on time, kept me informed, did a super job, left everything clean and tidy. I’m really pleased and can recommend the company

"Shoddy Traders"
The company went bust and opened up with a slightly different name. Shoddy workmanship, pressured us in to releasing £1000 deposit. Spent a day and a half at my property. Final cost just under £4000
and the damp has come back. Just be careful with them. Wouldn’t want any one else to fall for this

"Company Liquidated"
Would have been a five if I had not now been waiting since 27 August for receipt for work completed.
Today received phone call after finally receiving my receipt which is now worthless as I was advised that the company has gone into liquidation. Company has been bought but was advised my guarantee is void. Vague promise that new company will try to help if any problems with door

"Having paid over £2000 for damp…"
Having paid over £2000 for damp proofing over 1 year ago, it was time for the yearly inspection. The inspection was 3 months late and only happened because we kept asking them to come out, they finally did on the 1st October. Having a 25 year guarantee, we were informed that the damp was still there. We were told that a new course would be completed free due to the guarantee. We set a day for the 5th November but still hadn’t heard anything back so I have called them today, 18th October, to be told that the company has gone into liquidation last week. Our guarantee is now bull and void but the company that has taken it over advised me as a gesture of goodwill, they will happily carry the work out, at a further cost of thousands. Completely unacceptable and we will be taking this further.

"An absolute con company won't come back…"
An absolute con company won't come back to redo the work they carried out and put incompetent staff to say we are in liquidation but still trading and taking deposits my advice is stay away and use a reputable company to carry out professional work

"Roger and Jamie "
Roger and Jamie did an excellent professional job completing the damp proofing of the outside of the house. They even painted the windowsills all to a high standard and cleaned up after themselves. They explained everything they were going to do and made sure we were happy with it before we paid the outstanding balance.

"Please read before having a PIV installed. "
Update on this in the hope it will help others. If any company recommends a PIV system to solve high humidity in your home please check your loft ventilation first. When the PIV installed in my bungalow had no effect the company returned and installed soffit vents in the hope it would assist the PIV to work. That actually solved the problem. Since the soffit vents were installed the moisture levels in my home are within normal levels. The PIV has been switched off for months now. I only wish they had sorted the ventilation before installing the PIV. A cautionary tale which I hope othwrs may benefit from.
Home Energy Save GB was originally named Home Energy Save UK. It was taken over by new management in October 2024.
If anyone reading this review is considering using this, or a similar company, do ensure you get a written survey report which gives their recommendations on work which should be carried out. Then if there are problems with their work not solving your issues you will have their written recommendation as evidence.
I did not get any survey or recommendation in writing from Home Energy Save UK, (the company who are now named Home Energy Save GB).
Home Energy Save UK verbally recommended a PIV system to solve the issues of high moisture levels in my house. The PIV system did not reduce the moisture levels in my house at all. The original management refused to investigate why. They did once promise to send someone out to look at it but nobody turned up. Eventually I posted an honest review of Home Energy Save UK onTrustpilot. Soon I was contacted by "Home Energy Save GB" who said they were the new owners of the company.
They wanted me to change my review or point out that it was under new management and not the same company. This is what I am doing now.
Home Energy Save GB said they were under no legal obligation to help me but would see what they could do. They said they would install some tile vents in my roof to see if additional roof ventilation would help the PIV to work. The original management had refused to look into that.
The engineers who came to install the tile vents were the same ones who originally installed my PIV system. So the original staff appear to have been kept on. They actually installed soffit vents however, not tile vents. The soffit vents have made no difference at all. The moisture levels in my house are still between 66% and 75% most of the time. I have contacted Home Energy Save GB to let them know; but have received no response. I suppose if they did respond it would be to say they are not legally required to do anything. I presume that the guarantee for my PIV system which was installed by the original company is now useless due to the change of name/management. I have now turned off the PIV system completely and am using a dehumidifier and moisture collecting devices as I did before the PIV system was installed.
The house feels comfortable and the moisture levels are now 60% or below. I could not justify the cost of running the PIV as well as the dehumidifier when the PIV was having no effect.
It may be that a PIV system was not the correct solution for my home. It may be that it has been installed incorrectly. All I have to show for the money I paid is a cold draught from the diffuser in my kitchen if the PIV is running; and the white elephant PIV unit in the loft.
Another warning which hopefully may not apply to Home Energy Save GB (but consumers should be aware of) is that some surveyors try pressure sales tactics by offering a discount if you sign up for the work immediately and have it carried out quickly. I was not aware that by doing that I was signing away my right to a 14 day cooling off period by agreeing to have the work done within a week. So when I read more reviews of the original company the following day; and regretted my decision I could not cancel.

"Damp proofing"
Craig and Luke came over and damp proofed the entire property, internal and external walls. The guys were very helpful and kind enough to answer all our questions. They were very methodic, knowledgeable and quick and also cleaned up behind them, which was highly appreciated. Upon completion of the work, they walked us around the house and talked us through everything they had done, while giving us very useful information on what to expect from the proofing in the future
